We filed in May 26. 2020 got the letter soon after saying they will be reusing the biometrics.  We got the extension letter on 7/1/2020 with the 18 month extension.  We have heard nothing since then.  Case Status shows fingerprints were taken on June 16, 2020.

I just received a text saying I had a case update, and when I logged in I had a message that says my new card is being produced!

Relieved that the waiting is finally over, and hopefully it's a good sign and others will see movement on their cases soon!

I submitted my pack to WAC California, but my case was transferred to NBC in January. For some reason a lot of people were transferred to NBC in January.

Hello fellow May 2020 filers...

Just wondering if you had all received the letter extending the letter that extends the time during which receipt notices can be used to show evidence of status from 18 months to 24 months?  I havent received mine and obviously the original 18 months as stated on the first NOA will run out soon (assuming its timed from date they received my application)??

Also, my case status was updated in April 2021 to show that it was ready to be scheduled for interview, then I got a new notice in September saying the same thing (just with a new date)?  Has this happened to anyone else?  Any idea what it means?

Lastly- I'm filing for removal of conditions based on marriage to a US citizen (I am from UK)- is there a chance my interview might be waived?  I was "Interviewed" very briefly at the US Embassy in London prior to getting my CR1 Green Card, does this improve my chances of having my interview waived?

I'm filing in NYC with an MSC Number.

I haven't heard anything either since I was ready for interview scheduling, many months ago.

No automatic extension yet. If it doesn't come, you'll need to get in contact with USCIS and go in to get a further temporary extension.

As for waiver, I am in same situation, and I have no idea if we'll be interviewed.

It's all such a long frustrating process. I kind of feel lucky that we're going to make it through before too long, because I just think of those afterwards and the wait times must be exploding.

My case was recently concluded and I received my 10 year GC, and I did not have an interview. My removal of conditions was also based on marriage to a US citizen, with me being from the UK, however I received my Green Card through a K1 visa so I had an interview as part of my Adjustment of Status application. My ROC case never went to the 'Ready to be scheduled for interview' stage, I just received an update saying 'We ordered your new card'. The fact yours changed to 'ready to be scheduled' looks to me like you will have the interview, and it's highly unlikely to be waived.

The extension letter extends the expiration date of the green card (nothing to do with filing i751 date).

If you got your green card on a CR1 visa (got your green card when entering the US) then it is unlikely your interview will be waived. USCIS in the US has not interviewed you and your spouse yet.

Hi there. I haven't heard anything either and in a similar situation since last year (tho only updated fingerprints). It's been way too long. Do you know how to get that further temporary extension when already have one that's gonna expire in a couple of weeks? I tried contacting USCIS and wow, they won't let you talk to a real person, only the machine. Any tips? T_T

It's very frustrating trying to get to a human. I would say two things:

1) They have a responsibility to you, be damned with the process they want you to follow if you need to speak to a human. Don't feel bad about forcing it, every time I have the human I got to has been polite. The system is overwhelmed and they are doing what they can to try and solve that via their automation.

2) Google around for something like "talk to human uscis" and you'll find workarounds to getting past the barriers. I don't want to give specifics as it'll keep changing as they keep changing their telephone system. Find a recent writeup somewhere.

if you and you're spouse weren't interviewed by the USCIS then an interview is expected. When you were interviewed at the UK embassy it was the US State Dept. that interviewed you. do not worry. if you submitted adequate evidence then the interview will just be an administrative formality. I also am in the same boat. NYC- filed jointly with an MSC number. I think our problem is that NYC being such a big city will have tonnes of backlog due to the pandemic. so expect long wait time. have you filed for n400 yet ?
