I have heard it first hand on Bill Maher on a couple of occasions.

Bill Maher is an idiot. The article also didn't say it was coming from Maher.

I can't believe I am actually using Snopes to back up my claim but here you go:

I'm not disputing that. He probably said it, it sounds like a thing he'd say because he's an idiot.

I said the BB article wasn't talking about Maher.

I do like the idea that Snopes is bad, unless it proves your point.

Roger.... I do watch him because it helps me get outside of my bubble and he is funny even if he is going against "my side".

I am a fan of all of those. But I would not suggest that you try the pineapple flavored Smartwater

Naiseu.  I planted two baby banana trees last year, and just this week separated two new babies from those two for a neighbor.  Hopefully, our trees will produce fruit late this year.  Also started some pineapples, mango, and avocado trees.   Have two papayas in the ground doing well, but not sure if either are a female yet.  During this covid mess, I designed and built a ebb/flow hydroponic system, and currently have cucumbers, tomatoes, and mint growing.  Not sure the mint will do well with the ebb/flow system, I may need to move them to a flooded system to succeed.

Have had a raised garden bed I built for about 8 months now, screened in to keep the iguanas out, and have rosemary, habaneros, 3 varieties of mint, 3 different tomatoes, green onions, and acorn squash.  Also have 4 bins of African nightcrawlers going to produce castings for the dirt garden and recycle kitchen scraps, though I hope the hydroponic garden will replace most of the dirt garden stuff.  If it does, then the worms will simply be fish bait.

You sound like my wife honestly. She has a green thumb and loves to plant flowers, vegetables, anything, and is constantly looking for sales/discounts on plants. There is this Food Lion close to us that was selling small pear trees for like $20 a tree which she thought was outrageous. So she waited a couple weeks and when we went back there they had about 5-10 scraggly looking trees left discounted to $8 a tree, and she picked one up to plant near the newly planted apple tree we planted as well. It didn't take but a week or two of watering and caring for that it looks completely different.

We have a small fenced pen in the back that we are using for our growing pen. Since it's our first year in the house we only have one raised bed for a couple of plants, and a couple of structures that are being used for long beans and whatever else. One of the structures seriously looks like a tepee but with the buckets filled with soil at the bottom of each bamboo stick and twine wrapped around the whole thing. Once I said that I then had to explain to my wife and her niece who is staying with us due to no job what exactly a tepee was.

Maybe we need to start a planting/gardening thread. Apparently that's considered an "essential" activity by lockdown states (hence relevant stores are open), interestingly enough.
