Do you have any rebuttal to her argument?

She is in CYA mode, so it is up to her.  Based on her comments though, it is fairly evident that she was fully invested into the Russian/Trump collusion narrative.  She said she was very concerned that the incoming NSC director was talking to the Russian Ambassador, how is this surprising to anyone?  She did admit that the FBI was out of control which is really the issue that needs to be fixed.

Did Flynn lie to FBI and the Vice President? Trump said that is why he was fired. Flynn plead guilty to as much.

No he is a matyr? A victim? Give me a break.

Actually, this is very questionable.  The FBI agents that were interviewing him did not think there was any deception, and Flynn does not answer to the FBI, so he does not have to share anything with these agents unless they tell him he is specifically under investigation.  Of course Comey gloated about taking a advantage of the situation as a way to set up Flynn, but did he actually lie materially to the FBI?  Apparently several federal prosecutors did not think so.

He admitted, in court, to lying. He covered up meeting with the Russian ambassador.

President Trump fired him for lying. He did lie. It was material because if a foreign power knows something about a government official, they are vulnerable to blackmail.

You cannot have your top security advisors exposed and vulnerable to manipulation. Whether manipulation did occur or would occur is not the point.

That is just common sense. I cannot understand why some Americans have chosen to become so naive about how Putin has operated in the past.

Have you ever asked yourself why a person who was racking up millions in legal fees for a six figure position and was also having his family threatened by federal prosecutors would admit to something they did not do in court?  Thankfully, he actually got a lawyer that was not in bed with with the federal prosecutors.

As to being exposed to foreign manipulation, you can say that about anyone in DC.

Again with the victimization of this man. He did not need to wait to be interviewed by the FBI to disclose foreign contact. He was legally obligated to disclose it.

Yes, in this case, the FBI and Obama/Biden did in fact victimize him.  I for one would like to know why which is why Barr and Durham have to keep digging.  Heck, Obama is a lawyer and he accused Flynn of perjury which is laughable.  As to his not reporting as a foreign agent, was he charged with that?  Heck, Obama proposed using the Logan Act.  I wonder if John Kerry will ever be prosecuted under that questionable act?

No he was not charged, after he was exposed he revised /filed. I presume that was allowed because he was cooperating with the DOJ at that time. Regardless if whether that law is enforced as a criminal offense, Trump was right to fire him for lying to Pence. That person cannot serve at the heart of your National security mechanism.

This is pretty much what happens to anyone that gets caught not registering as a foreign agent, they fix the issue and possibly pay a fine.  I believe it is very common in DC among the political elite.  I am fine with Trump firing him based on what was known at the time, and quite honestly, I would be surprised if Flynn would want to come back in the administration if it was offered.  In fact, I am surprised anyone would want to work in any high profile position within DC, the cost of the legal representation is not worth it.

Flynn was fired once by Obama, Trump brought him back and then fired him again. Regardless of what Flynn wants, he should not be given another opportunity. Those are not political roles.

The politics:

Trump alluding to bringing him back is simply Trump playing to a (narrowing) base, attempting to throw red meat and fuel on the fire to impassion the faithful. It would be Trump doing what he does well: banking on a passionate minority being more motivated than an uninterested, distracted or unaware independent or opposition ( in a Trump spectrum not in more conventional American left right spectrum).

Why did Trump tweet over 100 times on mother's day about this topic and not mom's or the pandemic?

Because to succeed he requires conflict and drama in the public arena. It's not his failure in the Covid-19 space he worries about, it is that those topics vacuum oxygen from what he wants to rant about.

Will it be enough to put him in the Whitehouse? With Trump you cannot count him out. He is his own outlier for American politics.

Yes, and the possibility of a cabal run from the WH to go after political enemies is not a concern at all.  Nixon could only have dreamed of doing what Obama did with the IRS and DOJ, among others.  Obama will not face the music, but maybe some of those collaborators will.  It is interesting how all of the sudden Obama is out there running a deflection play to the extreme right now.

The nature of being an orator is the magician-like performance skill of holding out an object in one hand while doing something else behind one's back with the other. Because of the unjustifiable secrecy and arduous nature of transparency, it allows these actions with impunity. If Trump wanted to be like this he'd have every chance to, although, unilike Obama, Trump isn't liked by the very people who orchestrated these abuses. Because there's so many who similarly abused power and stayed quiet (in the "rank and file"), these bureaus should simply be cleaned out.

Always nice when reasonable people say what you've been saying for 3 years now. Why I'll never stop being an independent, no matter how much people on either side dislike me for it :

I can't speak for the criminals yet, but politically, the deranged left and their neoliberal+neocon buddies have burned bridges big time and I hope it resonates in the memories of those with a spine for a long time, I know it's something I won't forget any time soon:

Barr has gotten his boss off the hook leveraging the"unitary power of the president" Regardless, if he was President the same standards apply.
