Just finished it. Sorry I’m new here so I didn’t know that.

Still don’t see my flag but I’ll figure it out!

Thank you so much @Greenbaum!

Hi @Greenbaum, me and my fiance still didn't get the welcome letter. I am a bit scared we are missing on something, since I've seen some other people from Brazil getting interviews being scheduled at the Rio Consulate. Do you know what could be wrong? No sign of welcome letter, and NVC status says "at NVC".

Thank you!

Thank you!

Letters are not sent out till the file is in transit to the embassy that's why I explain in the PDF for you to call NVC to get your case number and invoice number. Follow the plan you will be fine, but it takes initiative to be educated if not you get left behind.

My case has finally arrived at the consulate from the NVC.  I noticed that my case number has extra digits when checking on the CEAC website

Example  PRG2020XXXXX1 01 PRG

Can anyone tell me what the 01 at the ends mean?

I can tell you what it means. Nothing for you BUT if you had a K-2 then it would be 01 for the beneficiary and 02 for the first child, then 03 for the next child so on and so forth. If you have no K-2 then ignore that number and don't try to use it as it will cause you to get false information.

does NVC still follow the every other 2-wk shipping schedule? also, i should be expecting an email from NVC, correct? we requested manila embassy for expedited handling and this is their reply.

We understand that you are requesting for an expedited appointment due to your petitioner's upcoming deployment orders. Because your visa case is still at the National Visa Center (NVC) we reached out to NVC to have your electronic record and physical file sent to the U.S. Embassy in the Philippines.

We are unable to interview applicants without the physical file. Please note that we cannot state with any accuracy how long it usually takes to receive a case from NVC under present conditions.

Once we receive your case, we will notify you with additional instructions to prepare for and schedule the interview.

They haven't returned to their normal shipping schedule. They are sending only those that are requested by the individual embassies. NVC doesn't expedite cases. Yes you will get a letter from NVC when your case ships. If you go to the first page, the first post and download the PDF you'll learn all about the processes, tricks and tips to get from her to the embassy.

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of the conversation. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will better prepare you for your interview.

Hey guys, I’ve been a silent reader and this forum has been very beneficial. My case is set to ready for interview. Reading from the 1st page I gathered I can start the ds160 form now and my petitioner can complete the affidavit of support. Is that still the same? Thanks for your input

You complete the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application now and the petitioner can complete the I-134, Affidavit of Support for the interview. I-134, Affidavit of Support can be emailed and printed from the beneficiary's side. The DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application needs to be completed so that you can schedule the interview. I don't know your embassy as you have not completed your profile (instructions are below) as each embassy can be different. But what I opine is true for most.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Thanks

Our petition was approved in April, with a NOA2 date in May. Still waiting at NVC for us. The Australian Embassy is open and moving, however I think its taking expedited only???

There are hundreds if not thousands who are waiting.
