Just saw several prominent dem leaders, on the News. It seems the NYT has done a thorough investigation and the allegations are false and Biden must be believed

Yet in the not to distant past women must be believed and the FBI investigation doesn't matter.

How could anybody stomach this blatant hypocrisy

Yeah, I posted an analysis of that investigation on the last page.  It is a bit of a soft sell.

Here's How the Media Will Fix Biden's #MeToo Problem

During the Kavanaugh hearings, the media was not just in a bloody frenzy over the unfounded allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford with relentless, wall-to-wall coverage, they also refused to allow any other Republican politician to escape multiple and relentless demands to say whether they believed Ms. Ford (the victim) or whether they stood by Kavanaugh (the accused) in the drama.

.

.

.

That's how the media framed it because it served to benefit Democrats and harm Trump and Republicans. That's what they do.

.

.

.

Here's how it will play out.

Biden will grant an exclusive, one-on-one interview with a friendly, female journalist (I mean, there are many to choose from.) The interview will probably be for 60 Minutes (Leslie Stahl, I'm thinking) and the interview will be pre-recorded so the news outlet will have the opportunity to make Biden look his best.

Biden will have well-rehearsed and tested answers to questions about Reade's allegations. His wife, Jill Biden, will be sitting next to him and she will do much of the heavy lifting. Both Bidens will pretend that this whole ordeal has been such a burden and they will thread the needle of dragging Reade through the slime while still maintaining that women should be believed, just not this woman.

And five to seven minutes later it will be over. And that will be that.

No other news outlet will feel compelled to raise the issue. No other Democrat will need to answer to Ms. Reade's allegations. They'll all have the same rehearsed answer. "Joe's already spoken to these allegations. It's old news. Nobody cares. Move on."

Yeah the NYT did a big story on this then published it, they got a phone call from the Biden campaign and then changed the story.

WASHINGTON —

Joe Biden’s campaign adamantly denied it and then stopped talking about it. His surrogates get uncomfortable when it comes up — and it keeps coming up. And his aides insist the media has already litigated the mess and exonerated the former vice president, which is not entirely true.

An allegation that the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee sexually assaulted a young staffer in a Capitol hallway nearly three decades ago refuses to go away even as the campaign disputes the claim.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Watching Chris Hays right now and he's treating the story seriously, reminding people that just because you don't want it to be true doesn't mean it isn't. A good point made by his guest: it started as a small story and is gaining steam, not like Weinstein, where it started out with a big story. The guest, who just did a story on the allegations for New York Magazine, says there's a difficult choice for liberal and progressive women to make. Going to find her article now.

Thank you for the suggestion, but I will pass on him too (though he is less problematic than Trump).

Well, I am sure you will find someone.  Maybe Jill Stein is running again.

He has been getting roasted all day because he shed a light on to the allegations concerning Biden. This is Rising's coverage on how he is being roasted online by other Democrats

I think Hayes does a solid job -- while Maddow has the spotlight, I think he is more engaging a host and holds more feet to the fire these days.

Good piece in the NYT (yes the NYT!) this afternoon about what looks like hypocrisy. I know that it is behind a paywall for some but if you can see it it's worth a read: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/04/30/business/media/tara-reade-joe-biden-media.html

Of course Biden will now be on Morning Joe tomorrow morning. The interview is going to be like 3am Pacific so I might just give let the DVR take care of that.

Edit to add: most of my friends who are Democrats are not knee-jerk hating on coverage of this. I can think of only one who is incensed -- the rest of us who have been talking about Reade for the past couple of weeks WANT to know more. What you see on Twitter isn't really indicative of true feeling amongst normal people, it's just people who like to shout a lot. :P I only have a Twitter account to tweet at companies when I've had poor service -- I tweeted twice about 10 years ago and was like, what am I even doing.

I will have to listen to them on my way to work in the morning. But that is what Rising said as well is that Hayes tends to be more of a straight shooter than everyone else. I am not happy with the NYT right now because they initially wrote a article about this then they rewrote the article after pressure from the Biden campaign, which this very same article that got rewrote has been used by different people like Klobacher and Abrams that "they did not find any truth to it".

I actually read that long article. Very balanced analysis.  Which begs the question,  how did it get in the NYT?

I have said from day one this whole thing is designed by operatives in the DNC to take out Biden. He is impaired and they know it.  Its not gonna be Hillary.
