I am very well aware of my own prejudices and as a result I am asking myself to be open. As much as I do not want it to be true, I must also prepare myself for the reality that it is. The question becomes, to me at least, and then what?

The one thing that gets me is that there are numerous people coming forward talking about how she told them "something happened" or the jist of what happened. Which we didn't get that before with Dr. Ford's testimony at all. That woman(who is a Biden supporter) that came forward saying that she was her neighbor and distinctly remembers Reade telling her this stuff is striking to me, and it makes it an even greater to me because she said ""She didn't ask me to," LaCasse said. "I volunteered to do that just recently. If this was me, I would want somebody to stand up for me. It takes a lot of guts to do what she's doing."

The trouble with Blasey Ford was the inconsistencies and illogicalities, I did pay quite a bot of attention at the time. Now with Trump I find him a slime ball and would be more inclined to believe anything vaguely creditable.

 

However I really do not see how you can both be outraged against Trump and defend Biden, sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

The outrage against Trump is far more than the many, many sexual assault allegations against him, many of which I find highly credible. It's how he's run this country for the past 3 and a half years. I do not find him an appropriate leader for this country and would prefer he be removed.

Trump, while best described with words that would land me in VJ jail, and even though he would never be invited to eat dinner at my house, has done more good for America in a short time than any president I can remember.  Once you take the person out of the mix, and focus on the THINGS, it becomes much easier to see why he was elected, and will be elected again.

No one accused Trump of assaulting Stormy.  

 

I do not agree with most of the "signature accomplishments" that he or his administration have brought about. I do not feel safer or that we have been on a more even keel during this time. I do feel we have become even more polarized and tribalistic. And we will not come to much of any agreement on our opinions, which is fine. We can at least agree to respect each other's right to an opinion that differs from our own.

Yes, which is why I am very disappointed that the candidate is likely to be Biden, even with the Reade allegations. 

 

These aren't the only two men who have run for president who may have sexually assaulted someone, it's just that we actually know it, or think we know it, this time. It's unsurprising in our current world that we have more information, not less. It doesn't make it any better, it just makes it depressing all around.

The polarization started way before Trump ever came on the scene.  The biggest driver of the political polarization is the identity politics practiced by the Democrats.  Anyone could see that grouping people in identity categories for political purposes would lead to conflict among the groups.  You can blame the polarization on Trump all you want, it is not reality.

During the Kavanaugh hearings, the media was not just in a bloody frenzy over the unfounded allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford with relentless, wall-to-wall coverage, they also refused to allow any other Republican politician to escape multiple and relentless demands to say whether they believed Ms. Ford (the victim) or whether they stood by Kavanaugh (the accused) in the drama.

That's how the media framed it because it served to benefit Democrats and harm Trump and Republicans. That's what they do.

Here's how it will play out.
 

Biden will grant an exclusive, one-on-one interview with a friendly, female journalist (I mean, there are many to choose from.) The interview will probably be for 60 Minutes (Leslie Stahl, I'm thinking) and the interview will be pre-recorded so the news outlet will have the opportunity to make Biden look his best.

Biden will have well-rehearsed and tested answers to questions about Reade's allegations. His wife, Jill Biden, will be sitting next to him and she will do much of the heavy lifting. Both Bidens will pretend that this whole ordeal has been such a burden and they will thread the needle of dragging Reade through the slime while still maintaining that women should be believed, just not this woman.

 

And five to seven minutes later it will be over. And that will be that.

 

No other news outlet will feel compelled to raise the issue. No other Democrat will need to answer to Ms. Reade's allegations. They'll all have the same rehearsed answer. "Joe's already spoken to these allegations. It's old news. Nobody cares. Move on."

And the fact that the mainstream media had dug and dug into every allegation and did not hold back from reporting even the most spurious accusation.  Apparently, the Dems are using the highly biased NYTimes as cover now.
