VERMONT SERVICE CENTER - case transfers

September 2019 filer here, case assigned to VSC.  Our case hasn't been transferred yet but a few case numbers near ours have been transferred - not sure where they went, it just says "transferred to an office that has jurisdiction" - could that be the local field offices for interviews, or NBC?

 

If our case does get transferred, I'm wondering if we should put off applying for N-400 in September like we were planning.  Part of me thinks we should just apply as soon as we can to get in the queue as early as possible, but if our I-751 is transferred to NBC or anywhere other than the local office, it seems that applying for N-400 might slow down both processes?  In which case maybe we should just wait.   Field office is Hartford, CT if it makes any difference.

Yes it will slow yoyr i751 but overall accelerate your path to becoming a citizen as u will have a combo interview

So the letter finally arrived, my case was also sent to the NBC. Kind of frustrating since they still had the option to adjust it in Vermont, but it is what it is. Here’s to another 3-6 months of waiting.

Some transfeted to nbc due to n400 some transfered to nbc for extended review and very little approval  rate been done at nbc which nornally prepares your file to local office or sends rfe

 

In each case once if transfered to nbc its definetly slowing the process

good luck. i can't believe it's already been 4 months since we receive our notice transfer and still notice. I'm assuming we were getting ready to be interviewed at Potomac before the pandemic but who knows what these transfers mean anymore.

That’s wild, but I assume that’s exactly what the case is. I’m sorry you guys have been waiting for so long, it’s really a strange process.

I got transferred to NBC after getting an RFE. On my letter says that I should hear from them in no longer that 2 months and after that they transferred it. Hopefully they'll respect the 2 months timeline. 

And as per the transfers, from what I've been reading... it doesn't necessarily mean interview.  My letter stated TO SPEAD UP THE PROCESS. Also I see that a lot of the cases around my number got RFE and were transferred.  

 

I don't know... let's just hope for the best 🤷‍♀️

How long after you got the transfer the status changed to 'ready for an interview '?

How long after they moved your case did they change the status to 'ready for interview'?  And when you received the letter about the transfer what did it say what was the reason for the transfer?

Well atleast they got movement I say congrats!!! What in the world is with the Vermont transfers omgggg 😩.... yes that info wld be helpful
