For real doh,  a kidney stone??  Ouch. Which is worse, childbirth or dealing with the stone?

Also, how in the heck did you crack a tooth while passing a stone?  I hope it wasn't due to verifying the calcification of the stone itself???

Well it ranked right up there with the gallstone getting stuck. There was blood and pain and sweating so much I thought I had a fever. I think it was on account of the intense pain and clenching my teeth together? It just cracked and a piece just fell out of my mouth. But I'm not going to the ER, and I think it's kinda stupid to keep doing 'video chats' with doctors who really can't tell me much without physically seeing me and running scans. Which is another thing that peeves me right off - they keep saying ''oh we'll see you if it's an emergency" so does a kidney stone and infection not constitute an emergency? Tooth not count either? Believe me, there are some aspects of life I'd also like to see get back to somewhat normal.

Well, once the stone has passed, it's pretty much over (minus the tooth,  of course).

I had two stones once.  Took me 3 weeks to pass them.  Passing the calcium spikes thru the urethra was a welcome feeling compared to a backed-up ureter (sometimes both at once).  I've had women tell me that they would prefer to have another child vs. another kidney stone.

It was certainly the worst pain I've ever felt in my.life.  (aside from eating wedding cake, of course)

Well I'd say all the pain for a baby is worth it vs all the pain for a tiny sharp hunk of whatever in a toilet. All my dentist would say is that he can't see me unless my face is swollen and to stuff some temporary gunk on it. Okay, I can do that, but how many weeks is that advisable to do? My sister is raging man. Her doctors continue to see patients every day and if she told every sobbing patient that they're just going to keep bleeding for weeks she'd find it incredibly unethical.

So I read the bakersfield.com article, and what stood out was that:

Kern County Public Health Services Spokeswoman Michelle Corson and an epidemiologist contacted by The Californian said they didn't agree with the doctors' recommendation to end social distancing and immediately start reopening society.

a spokeswoman disagrees with the doctors.  No studies quoted,  no reasons given, just that she disagrees with them.

Please tell me you're not asking me to ignore what two doctors with a combined 40 years of experience between them are telling us, but we should believe what a health services PR mouthpiece says?

She is an epidemiologist. She knows more about the transmission of Covid-19 than the 2 ER doctors.

So you advocate for trusting doctors, not just anyone who states an opinion.  And when I post a video of DOCTORS sharing their opinion, you tell me I am supposed to take the word of some PR spokesperson because YOU misread her credentials?  And because YOU said it, and allegedly work in a hospital in some.capaciry, I'm supposed to accept YOUR word for.her credentials????  You know, tha lass with a degree in SPEECH COMMUNICATION and RHETORIC??

You are one hilarious dude, so reminiscent of Mox.

Changes nothing, except the agenda behind VOR's response. Why even frame it as "a spokeswoman's word over 2 doctors" when it's a spokeswoman and an epidemiologist's word.

I am not advocating for anyone. If my toilet breaks I call a plumber. Doesn't mean they know more than a doctor, but they do know more about that particular subject. That is what they do. An epidemiologist has a masters degree and studies the transmission of diseases through populations. Just a simple fact. They just know more about that particular topic than a physician.

Dr. Erickson is an osteopath, was an emergency care physician, and now owns an urgent care facility. What's his background in virology?

Dr. Massihi was an emergency care physician, and now owns an urgent care facility. What's his background in virology?

If I know one thing about doctors, it's that they're not exactly backwards about coming forwards about their qualifications and their areas of specialization and practice. Why can't I find anything about these guys being virologists?

My head isn't in the sand -- my mind is open to being swayed. But I am firm in one thing -- when you have a medical problem that requires specialist care and diagnosis, you go to a specialist, not a generalist. @Steeleballz has said much of what I would have said about that had I been around this afternoon. Qualifications matter. Specializations matter. I listen to people with expertise in relevant areas.

Which is worse, childbirth or dealing with the stone?

Never experienced either personally, but women have described childbirth as like trying to pass a watermelon through one's nostril.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
