They are just saying the same thing as every other article like this has said. We see four or five of these posted on the site every night. It just happens to be doctors this time. Doctors who are also businessmen.  Unfortunately in order to make a convincing argument, they have included some of the same misinformation that many of the other agenda driven articles have done, and tried to back it with their medical degree.

So in summary, they are wrong?  How do you determine what is actually right when it comes from a medical professional like yourself?

Who is Dr. Wilma Smith, MD?

Who is Dr. Eric Jenkins, DO?

Who is Dr. Cal Rosen, MD?

Who is YOUR Dr?

Y'all don't want layperson opinions, and when doctor's views are posted, they are shot down.  Not because they do not make sense, but because you don't want to hear it.  Can't make this stuff up.

Are THESE guys doctor enough for you?  I'll save y'all  the time and tell you to jump to the 35:00 point for the summary.  But you'll have to watch prior to that to get the REAL dangers from the disease.

I love it @43:00 - "There's no science behind that."

Part 2 is here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zb6j7o1pLBw

Eric Jenkins MD is in pain management and anesthesiology. He's not in public health, epidemiology, virology, or a related practice. Can't find an Eric Jenkins, DO. So I assume that DO was a typo. It happens. But even if he does happen to be a DO, what does being an osteopath have to do with being qualified to give an opinion?

Cal Rosen, MD: only reference in an anthology of stories available on Google Books, called The Road Taken.

Can't find a Dr. Wilma Smith online, maybe she's in hiding? My doctor is pretty easy to find if you Google his name. My guy's an internist with St. John's Providence Health in Santa Monica on 20th Street. Been practicing for over 40 years. Columbia undergrad and Yale Med School, I think. He's also not qualified to give opinions on coronavirus beyond follow what public health officials tell us to do. So that's all I've heard from his practice, along with reminders to wash my hands frequently.

I *think* I have been pretty consistent for weeks saying I trust medical professionals in relevant fields when it comes to info about this virus. Doctors outside of their fields can speak in generalities but are (and should) likely to put it inside a bunch of caveats. I mean, my best friend Jenn is a family and employment law attorney. If I went to her asking if she could handle, say, a civil rights case, she would tell me she couldn't do it and refer me to someone who knows something in the area. She might sketch out what she knows about the law, but she would tell me not to trust her. I grew up with a doctor mom (primary care) and believe me, she would be the first to tell you that you need to trust specialists, not generalists, when it comes to things like COVID-19.

Here's some coverage of other doctors in the same community as the doctors in your video disagreeing: https://www.kget.com/health/coronavirus/local-physicians-reject-doctors-call-to-re-open-society/

Did you answer my questions though?

Im certainly not wasting my time reading anything from a go daddy webpage in regards to my health.

They are not wrong, they have just included several arguments that are dubious or not true to support their argument. OTOH, they claim our immune systems get weaker by staying at home. They say there is no risk if you are younger and have no pre existing conditions. They claim to have attended 100’s of autopsies. Several things jumped out at me, but ultimately this is just another version of the Federalist/American Thinker type articles. It is driven by a clear agenda.

You didn't find those doctors because I made up the names to prove a point.  Unless you know the person yourself, you don't know ANY doctor online.

But did you ake the time to watch their videos? Or did you just blow it off because I posted it and you don't agree with what I've been saying all along?

I'm not watching hour long videos, thank you, from people operating outside of their wheelhouse. I'd rather talk to my MD mom for an hour. More fun.

Do you have videos from doctors in relevant fields that will challenge my views? Those I would watch.

Another doctor.  Which the usual suspects will seem unworthy, or a quack,  I'm sure.

Okay I didn't see this one before I replied. I will watch an interview with an MPH. Thanks.

Just curious, and not being snarky, how many Covid patients has your mom treated?

Everything in the media today has an agenda.  I certainly am no medical expert, but we certainly have a lot more data available today than we did six weeks ago.  My Point all along, much like these Drs., is that we need to look at the totality of the virus along with what the ramifications are due to our government actions.

I can ask. She's doing telemedicine only now though.

So I've been listening to Dr. Katz and I think he does make some good points (can't stand Maher and have never liked him), but I wanted to know a little more about Katz because something pinged in me. I remembered something about him being not exactly completely qualified despite that MPH. And then I recalled that Yale had stepped away from him and found this article again which I had read several weeks ago: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/mar/27/trump-coronavirus-back-to-work-column

So he's not an epidemiologist, and his former colleagues have distanced themselves from his viewpoints, and publicly. On the other hand, I think his comments at the end of the video about the importance of taking good care of yourself are spot on. He's definitely qualified to talk about that. We can do SO much to seize control of our own health, and I think I do a lot towards that end by eating well, taking plenty of exercise, protecting my skin, and getting therapy.

So I don't dismiss what Katz says out of hand, but he is one voice countering many, many others who disagree. It is good to have balance and seek further opinions, and contrary opinions can aid in challenging consensus in constructive ways.
