Anyone in Belgrade, Serbia now? My fiancé arrives in Belgrade in two days to start the quarantine. About how much does food cost per day? I checked out the local sights and Belgrade seems to have some pretty cool things like the Tesla Museum. Are the people nice? Any advice on how to act? Manners? Hehe

This is really great to hear! I wish you a pleasant stay in Serbia :)

I am more and more inclined to travel to Serbia, too, if I don't get banned by the upcoming EO...

So far Air Serbia has had successfully flown to JFK. Definitely watch airlines and national news about Serbia and border restrictions. Right now Serbia is completely open. Beat of luck with the upcoming EO deadline.

I decided to go to Croatia on the 24th and fly to the US on July 9th. For me this is the easiest way since I can easily drive to Croatia in 7 hours.

I know many people are unsure about Turkish airlines however with everything there is a risk and starting July they will have many new flights

For Croatia, be sure to complete the Ministry of interior's border entry form. Croatia is using the technicality of pre-paid bookings may count as business to allow visitors in. So just tell Croatia's border police it's for touriam and show them your paid booking for the hotel/airbnb/vacation rental/boat etc. For more see Total Croatia News.

Depending on your flexibility consider exploring Croatia a little. We did a 1 week in Dubrovnik and a second week in Zagreb and it was absolutely fantastic despite the anxiety of a canceled flights every week.

I'd strongly suggest having a backup plan for your exits and boarder crossings. Although, it looks like most boarder restrictions are loosening ever slightly and more flights are flying. For instance when Turkish Airlines canceled, we switched to Air Serbia. When Serbia Air canceled all Croatia-Serbia flights until July we were eying buses and car rentals. My understanding is Serbia is open but Croatia is not open to Serbia. We'll be driving from Zagreb to Belgrade tomorrow so we hope we can confirm this!

Best of luck with your plans!

Thank you for all the helpful information. I’ll be staying in a Mobil home kind of town almost direct by the beach where they have small homes you can rent. Then I’ll drive to Zagreb and spend 4 days there before hopefully flying.

When did you originally plan to fly to the US before you flights got canceled? I’m guessing it was always the Istanbul- US flight that got cancelled? I hope this will be less of an issue in 3 weeks, when I’m flying.

I’ve been here since the 11th! Food drink transportation is very cheap! You can have a decent meal with like 10 euros or even less. Supermarket is cheap too. People are very nice and friendly, most people speak enough english to communicate. You can order food with wolt application (menus in English). Cargo is a taxi application to use. You can also ask the hotel restaurants etc to call you a taxi. The pink company is the cheapest one (here taxis are 4 private companies and have differences in prices). It is advised not to take taxis from the street or the airport cause they charge way too much for tourists.
people are wearing masks and there is antiseptic hell everywhere.
There are a lot of exchange desks in the city with better rates than the airport so keep that in mind too.
The castle is very nice to visit.

Zdravo is hello and hvala is thank you!

good luck to your fiancé!

Hello everyone, I have been following this thread for the best part of 3 weeks now and actually currently in Mexico City, I arrived on the 11th June so my 14 day quarantine is over on the 26th.

I am worried that there are now talks of an EO being put in to place to ban all travel from Mexico, I know current land restrictions end on June 22 and that will inevitably be extended.

i can’t find any reliable sources on the mention of said EO but I am seeing it a lot on here and that is the main reason people have moved from Mexico to Serbia as their 3rd country to quarantine.

does anyone have any thoughts or sources on any of all this?

I haven’t heard anything at all to that effect. The existing travel restrictions regarding the land border have already been extended through to July.

Hi! So somebody commented the following a few days ago:

Hey! For those of us currently (more or less patiently) waiting for their days to be over here in Mexico, the agreement on Mexico-US Border restrictions has not been amended but only extended for another 30 days i.e. until July 21, for now.

My understanding is we should be fine to enter the US via Mexico until that date (July 21), provided we are not subject to another EO by then.

It seems that you should be ok. The EO that expires concerns immigrant ban as far as I understand, not the land border. There is an upcoming EO that might ban certain non-immigrant visa holders (H1B, J1, L1(?)...) but noone knows which visa types will be affected, what the exemptions of it are, or when it actually comes out. Apparently it doesn't have to be before the 22nd/23rd, but it might be, but it might also be later. Or not at all. Uncertainty, basically. But unless your visa is one of those types, you should be ok.

I am looking to fly to Croatia around the 6th of July from the US and my fiancé will meet me there; he is coming from the U.K. For anyone who has been there; any advice on where to stay?

Hi! Random. When my fiancé and I were investigating our options, I contacted Croatia and asked if he would be allowed into Croatia for that reason. This was their response (he’s been in Mexico since the 12th...it was a better option for us). But I hope this is helpful for someone else! 1FE62EAF-5CD5-40AE-9B44-C01998B9912B.thumb.png.98b19d030948e684ddf830391f94a1f6.png

The current EO ends June 23 or 24. If I were you I would just wait that out and see if anything changes.

Thanks but FYI that’s not accurate information and I’ve seen it going around other forums too. The current EO (with the travel ban) is in effect indefinitely and does not have an end date. It sucks, but unfortunately that’s how it’s written.

I think @Ja3germeister meant the Proclamation relating to the Labor Market: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-suspending-entry-immigrants-present-risk-u-s-labor-market-economic-recovery-following-covid-19-outbreak/ There was talk of potentially expanding it to certain nonimmigrant visas (e.g. J-1, etc.) and extending it; no concrete news yet, though.

Were you told you needed official documentation for AirSerbia to show you could travel to the US? My fiancé is leaving  Manchester airport and they’re giving him a hard time saying he’ll need official documents to show them he can come here

I had to show my onward flight to the us. I had trouble at Heathrow as they questioned if my visa was banned. They had to ask a few people first. The problem is the restrictions are confusing and the British staff aren’t really up to date with it all and they interpret things incorrectly. I hope it all goes ok
