Croatia and Turkey are both not in the Schengen Zone. However, I doubt there are flights to the US. I wasn’t able to find any.

Yes to all of the above...Croatia not part of Schengen area but there are no flights out of Croatia except to Frankfurt.

Following this thread! My fiance is in Croatia, his K-1 expires June 21, and we are freaking out...

There are probably not many international destinations from Zagreb at this time. You may want to seriously consider finding a country that flies to the USA directly (not from EU Schengen) and somehow getting there to that country. Maybe even booking a cabin on a freight cargo ship? Hopefully in mid-May there will be more availability of flights to somewhere.

Yeah, all other international destination flights are cancelled. My gut tells me that his visa is going to expire before the travel bans are lifted. The US embassy there told me a few weeks ago that if his visa expires, they'll issue him a new one after he gets a new medical exam and pays another visa fee.

It looks like Lufthansa is planning on adding more flights now according to demand. Maybe airlines do know something we don’t know yet. United Airlines added Germany flights to US starting 6/4 again too.

Don't loose hope. Things are changing everyday. You need to look at the Zagreb airport website everyday and get a sense of which flights are leaving for where. Countries and airlines are eager to get things going again. Turkey can be option for you, but they will need to open up. Turkish Air will have direct flights to the USA, they do not transit the EU Schengen area. They normally fly to Miami, Atlanta, New York and I think Washington DC. Look to see any news about them as destinations may change.

Just as a note of caution, the Philippines have had gradually extended lockdowns. The airlines set up schedules based on the announced end date, and then cancel them when the lockdown is extended. People pay for the tickets and then get stuck waiting for weeks for the refund.

I guess we just have to wait and see then till 5/7 whether Schengen travel ban gets extended or not. Thursday can’t come fast enough!

Do we have any guesses on when they'll start doing routine visa services again? The visa waiver program means that most tourists here don't actually need a visa to travel, so I wonder if they'll even start doing them at all.

Why then?
The Schengen-ban proclamation doesn't have an end date in it.

Didn’t he extend it to another 30 days which should end 5/7?

It didn't get extended because it didn't have to, it didn't have an end date. It was announced as a 30 day ban but that wasn't in the actual proclamation. It also started March 13th, so it wouldn't be the 7th anyway.

Just read the original Trump text. You’re right. It’s extended until terminated, no specific date. 😞

I've been checking the London booking tool multiple times per day for the past couple weeks and there's been nothing. I'd assume they won't post more until they have a firm reopen date.

My fiancé was able to make an appointment this morning (EST)! There were a few dates open at the Embassy in London in July.
