Here's the Scoop with processing.........

Daaaaamn. Talk about adding a bit of stress. Well - it's like TracyTN said, doesn't HAVE to mean that processing time will double. I would be a bit concerned of things still being in any sort of order once they arrive based on reports from previous adjucators that files are just kept in bins or boxes for the adjucators to grab and work on.

OK - positive...CSC has been ####### lately. We all know that. Half of the filers don't get emails or updates on the website; files getting lost; erradic periods of movement and then almost a standstill. Perhaps it is due to the H1B visas. Who knows?

Hope that it actually will speed things along. Maybe it's been in the works for a while and just kept hush-hush.

You know, as long as my petition gets processed, I get an approval and my fiance gets here that is all I want. I don't care where it is processed and if that means that I have to wait longer then so be it.

And this is coming from someone who filed at VSC

OK. I just called USCIS and spoke to an Officer Martinez who was very helpful. She advised me that they are indeed sending all applications for K1 visas back to the Nebraska service center. This is supposed to speed things up, but we shall see.

I then asked her about my specific application and she said that it is in the process of being moved to Nebraska and might in fact already be there. Either way I should use the Nebraska date as my guideline. I know that this does not clear things up completely but I hope that it is a start.

How exactly is this going to speed the process up if Nebraska is now taking I-129F's from both CSC and VSC? I see this as a slow down in the process myself. Hope that I am wrong though. :(

Here's something interesting:

"Well I called and I was just told something different...the guy I talked to said, 'there was no indication of any CSC K-1 applications being moved to NSC'. He also said about 5 other people he talked to today asked him the same question and he told them all the same thing...not sure if he's just clueless or if it's true."

Confusion abounds.

That'll be 'situation normal' as far as USCIS is concerned, then, I think!

Depends how many staff they have to work on the petitions, I suppose... if transferring them to NSC is indeed what they're doing now.

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

If they do move the petitions over, I doubt it will increase processing times much, depending how they are set up, it may even decrease them.

If your case is about to be processed, it may just get processed at CSC instead of being sent to NSC. Anything received a certain date would get moved to NSC. But dont take this is the law, just speculation at this point, wait until the USCIS says something about the case processing changes.

True, fwaguy, but we still don't know that this will 'double' processing times (although possibly for VSCers it might - anything longer than 3 weeks, though, would be doubling for them).

Still find it odd that they've not put anything on their site about this.

Jokes like this will no longer apply because were all in the same boat now....so who will you take your frustration out on now?

Wasn't a joke, nor am I frustrated (as I am through the K1 process). The average for VSC processing times has increased some lately, but before that, 3 weeks was about as long as anyone waited.

Perhaps the NSC will resume processing I-129F applications and stop forwarding them to the CSC?

As for the VSC, the I-129F processing times are back on the webpage.

My guess is that the VSC is busy doing higher priority work; and the I-129Fs are just sitting idle until the rest of the high priority work is completed.

And no longer on NSC's page... the whole thing was wrong obviously...

YMMV
