Wow, Vermont Service Center recieved our K1 Packet today!!! Its an amazing feeling knowing it got there safe and sound. Anyways, questions keep popping up. Can anyone tell me the requirements for translations of documents such as birth certificate, police record and so on. Is a translation service necessary...or can anyone translate them and have it notorized? How does that work. Does anyone know of which service in Cairo would be good to use???

Thanks,

Faith

Each document needs to have the following:

I certify that I am competent to translate from [Language] to English and that the above [identify the document and to whom it pertains] is a correct and true translation to the best of my knowledge and belief.

Address:______________

Telephone:____________

we had to go to a certified translator.. I went to one here in Boston.. and he went to one there in Alex.. It has to be stamped with the official seal..

Sometimes they will say you DONT need it.. but it is better to be safe than sorry

anything in arabic has to be translated into english.. marriage cert... police.. birth.. military..

It's not a requirement. I think Nouna didn't do it and they said it was fine so we're not doing it. I told him to bring the instructions with him to the interview since they don't state that they need to be translated.
