IR-5 Parent Visa approved before EO. WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

Hi All,

 

Hope you are all staying safe during this crazy times.

 

I have a question regarding approved IR5 visas (Parent of US Citizen) that are pending on medical exam results. Would this visa still be approved after the EO?

My mom had her visa approved on 3/6/2020, her passport was kept at the consulate due to the approval BUT they are still waiting on her medical exam results to finalize the process. The lab results are due on 6/2/2020. The question is .... IS SHE STILL APPROVED? OR will she be banned for good after the 60 days? If any of you can please through some light into this I would appreciate.

My understanding is that unless her visa is already issued, she is affected by the EO.

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

She can not be approved until everything is done, sounds like one bit has been so far but she still has the medical and AP to do.

If the visa was not issued before midnight today, she is inadmissible under the EO until that expires.

^ just to clarify which “midnight” (this seems to confuse some people), the EO was effective 11:59pm EST on 23 April.
