USCIS Offices Preparing to Reopen on June 4

I wasn't aware they had delayed their opening to be fair. Assumed it was closed until further notice and this was the first report which is why I assumed it was good news.

 

I think here in the UK they are tentatively looking at June to start relaxing restrictions by so assumed it would be similar for the US. I can understand everyone's concern. I just want things to be done safely without effecting anyone's lives too much (including visas).

First it was April 3, then May 4, & now June 4. That’s not good news. 
 

I hope embassies oversea open before that.

 

 Most businesses are reopening. Why not these govt offices

it's going to depend on the outlook in mid May. I'd say there's a good chance they re-open June 4 but if infections are spiking again in society they are just going to shut it down again

I'm having to reschedule everything on my trip in July because of this. June is just too close to my trip dates.

I was thinking they can resume early with help of social distancing and face masks. We are waiting for Oath only. It is a simple process - that can be done in small groups also.  May be they know better then us.

 Most businesses are reopening. Why not these govt offices  "Most businesses"?  You mean like nail salons in Georgia?  The only industry reopening currently here in Washington is existing residential construction.

They will keep punting it 30 days at a time. Realistically i dont think they will reopen anytime soon. There is no strategy at the federal government. lets just wing it away and a miracle with beat the virus rather than a Vaccine or testing

I don't think they will, at least not embassies abroad, but I also doesn't think it matters because even if they do, it still doesn't guarantee that they'll resume routine visa processing.

When USCIS again resumes operations for in-person services, USCIS will automatically reschedule ASC appointments due to the temporary office closure. Individuals will receive a new appointment letter in the mail. Those who had InfoPass or other appointments must reschedule through the USCIS Contact Center once field offices are open to the public again. Please check to see if the respective office has been reopened before calling the Contact Center.

Note what I highlighted in red. It says on or AFTER June 4. There is no guarantee anything will reopen on June 4.

That's what I was also thinking too. But the other day I logged on to the uscis website and the date had changed to June 4th.
