Another reason why Trump wants to get things going again. It's vital that those key swing states have as much a transparent process as possible, and we know fraud won't overturn an election, as it'll take years before its even found, if at all.

Well, if the missing ballots were evenly distributed across the elections in 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018 that is a little more than 7 million per election.  How much did Hillary win the popular vote by?

An interesting thing to ponder.. I'd also use weighted averages, as the turnout for Presidential elections is usually around double.

I don't get the concern. Elections sends serialized ballots to the registered voter, at that address. If the ballot never reached the voter, if the voter doesn't return the ballot, or forgets to stamp the ballot, there is no vote tallied. 

 

It's not like anything can be done with that ballot. It's not a blank check to vote in a future election, it is a piece of paper.

 

What is the worry?

I was talking about the possibilities of a valid and properly filled out, signed, and postmarked ballot being lost in the mail, or being misplaced by election officials.  Those are just as real possibilities as the voter doing it wrong.

Lost in the mail?  Doubtful with a pre-addressed envelope. Do you think the mail service is that broken?

And even so it would be random for all voters and not selective to influence elections. Those letters are pilling up and the post office will eventually get it to the addressee or return to sender.

 

Widespread malfeasance inside election operations headquarters? Impossible given the audit operations states have. And why would one party be more or less corrupt?

 

Even so over 4 years? Every tax levy, every local improvement vote, , off year voting? 70% of those ballots had nothing to do with Presidential elections. 

 

 

Here is the plausible and most likely factual explanation: they chose not to vote, just like the 40-70 %of non mailing ballots. Or they chose to go to the election poll instead. 

 

 

Studies show higher participation with mail in voting. That is a positive social benefit.
