This kind of makes sense, it's ridiculous that something as simple as a strike for worker's rights, something that has led to so much good in the rest of the world, is being treated as an extreme viewpoint.

 

It's also ridiculous how essential workers are being called heroes by the same people who mock any effort to make their lives better.

Unions are inherently socialist in their overall function, but sure, they have the right to strike, and as to private sector unions that is fine.  As to public sector unions, those should not exist, even FDR was against those.

 

People work to provide for themselves and their family, and they work in a free market system.  AOC is suggesting the government should take this over which puts us in the same boat as the former USSR.

Yes, because there's nothing between for-profit-free-for-all and USSR. There's not a single country in the world which you can point to that does this better and cheaper than the US. Not a single one. 🙄

Except we do not operate in an unfettered capitalistic economy.  There are a lot of regulations, but it is a good thing we are more capitalist especially right now.  The consumers should dictate the market, not the government.  As to countries doing things better, not really sure what you are talking about.  I know there are a lot of European countries that dictate work rules and time off.  It is really a pita when you need something from one of them in July or August.
