Thanks for the info on K1 with their visa in hand. Will be booking a flight for next week from Thailand to the US

Just curious. When did you get your K1?

Fly to Dubai, i heard Dubai is going to open flights to US from 1st May 2020. :)

This isn’t about being able to enter the US. It’s about 99% of the countries in the world not allowing EU residents in the country. So to those that are from Austria, do your research because Canada closed borders to the Schengen area too. They closed borders to all foreign nationals.

I got in touch with Paris embassy today about my visa. My interviews was supposed to be on March 18th, cancelled and pushed back to May 20th. They are telling me that is it likely that my interview will be cancel again so it makes me wonder if K1s are really part of the exemptions of the EO. France will be out of stay at home mesures from May 11th so I wonder why my interview will be cancelled again apart from the fact that they consider K1 are included in the immigration ban and so are following measures and not issuing my visa.

Don’t worry. Most embassies are not processing ANYTHING right now- only providing emergency services to US citizens. I asked the embassy in Croatia and confirmed that when they resume services K1s will be processed

Hei guys! With this ban in place, are they going to stop processing cases at USCIS/NVC for those included in the ban and just hold on giving visas? OR are they still processing the cases as well?

We all really hope that will stay like that. Because as the embassy in Bosnia told me they didn't have any additional info on K1 visas, and also that they will be rethinking this ban in 30 days. So who knows what they'll figure out in 30 days.

Let's hope for the best 🤞

From what I can tell, the EO has nothing to do with how uscis processes cases.

It is the government.  Logic isn't always a part of the order.   There is always a chance it can be modified - and not in a good way.

I agree with you. I am a US citizen and applied for my parents. Case is at NVC and ready for the interview. Considering that they falls under immediate relatives category, they should be exempt. I really hope the ban is lifted after 60 days and not get extended. Really sad right now.

I'm sorry for you and your folks and everyone else going through this mess,  is there no way for legal challenge  as The presidents wife brought her elderly parents to the US?  Not trying to be political just asking

I see people concerned about K-1's being affected by this in 30 days. I am as well. Would it be beneficial for us to contact state representatives in advance to try ensure this doesn't happen?

Does this mean spouse of USC who are outside the United States and has a pending petition are good? Just trying to be sure

Spouses of US citizens are exempt.......no need to worry.

Many countries are not accepting passengers who came from Europe and if they do, some require one to go to quarantine with the added hardships of restrictions.

Canada is not accepting passengers from Europe and have closed the border with the USA. But I will look into Dubai. Casablanca maybe another option.

Mexico borders are wide open for Europeans! I just called the Mexican embassy in Spain to make sure. That might be the route I’ll be taking. Staying in Mexico for 2 weeks and entering the US by plane, since the only borders closed are the land borders.

FYI - Mexico has been increasing almost 10% per day in confirmations and deaths the last 10 days.  Expect a US policy change soon if not a Mexican.

FYI Canada has 4x the cases Mexico does and the travel restrictions imposed at the land border are in place until May 19. I’m sure whatever new measures taken will be decided then. I doubt he will impose tighter restrictions on Mexico alone before May 19. Then again nobody knows anything for sure. I understand this is risky but it’s either this or being separated for many more months and having to pay for a new medical and visa.
