Hello Everyone,

my wife and I are currently in the process of filling out the I-130 and stumbled over the question regarding Employment history. As I'm a full time student (and have been for the last 2 years) without regular income our question is:

Do I list the college I'm currently attending as my employer and specify "student" as my occupation there or am I simply unemployed in the eyes of the state?

We have 2 joint sponsors and plenty of assets to cover us, we are simply stuck when it comes to the detail if I am unemployed or not and would appreciate your input.

Thank you in advance!

I would enter "Unemployed; fulltime student" or something like that as your occupation. The name of the employer would then be "N/A".

Definitely don't enter the name of your college as your employer; you are not employed by them.
