For those of you who have had your appointment canceled, can I ask how you received the news? Did the embassy message you, and how long did it take to reflect on CEAC website and on ais.usvisa-info, if at all?

My husband's appointment was tomorrow, we are filing DCF, emergency expedite. The embassy accepted our I-130 petition last week, we did the medical on Monday, got the results back today, and my husband's interview was supposed to be tomorrow, but we've just received this email, 9 hours before our appointment, from the support team of ais.usvisa-info:

Dear Applicant,

Your case number has been loaded to the system and is good to schedule appointment as well as registering for courier services.

However your appointment has been cancelled. Please follow the steps below;
You need to register and schedule your original appointment. Once you appointment date passes 24 hours, you can visit your record, go to your summary page, click on “group actions” menu and select “missed my appointment”. System will allow to submit your request. Once the IV Unit verifies and makes scheduling plan, you will receive your new appointment date and time via email.

Best regards,

The Contact Desk Support Team

It's out of hours to contact anyone, so I was wondering if anyone could shed some of their knowledge or experience on this issue.

Thank you in advance.

ALL in-person interviews are cancelled. We are in the middle of a pandemic. There will not be any interviews until further notice. Nothing you can do about that.

The embassy has made an exception for our case. We've been in contact with them, I was just in their office on Wednesday where they are only accepting emergency cases at the consulate. They said they would try to get my husband his visa ASAP so that we may evacuate as quickly as we can and return home together.

If that’s the case and you can’t get hold of anyone before, I’d arrive at the embassy for the originally scheduled appointment . It’s possible the message you got is something automatically being sent to everyone at the moment. Of course first prize is you get someone on the phone to clarify first.

Thank you! That was indeed the case. The embassy called us in the morning to confirm our appointment, and asked us to bring the email we received to the interview.

The last 24 hours have been such a rollercoaster.
