The trump Administration is planning to pass an Executive Order in the next 24 hours to suspend immigration to America.  While it's unlikely the President will change their mind on the general policy, we believe they may consider a narrow exception for immediate family members of US Citizens, including fiancés.  We've started a petition a the White House which requires 10,000 signatures to get attention and 100,000 signatures to get a formal response.  Please join us by signing the petition at the following link.  We should have the membership to make a solid run at getting enough signatures!

(note the petition was changed to include fiance visa language... please verify you signed the updated petition if you signed earlier)

Do you know what does "immediate family" mean? Would that include parents of USC?

That is good news, I wait to live with my husband in the same country again some day. It is morally wrong to keep a married couple apart no matter how long it is. Matthew 19:5-6

Signed.  Currently waiting for medical and interview in london.  Hoping this 60 day thing is a distraction as I dont imagine much would be happening in those 60 days anyway from an immigration POV considering social distancing and the pause on interviews etc anyway and is more to show he is "being tough" and appealing to the MAGA lot.  Without the EO for 60 days how many would be able to immigrate compared to with the EO.

Happy to sign up- can anyone do it? Or does it have to be US residents?

Also, it's difficult to petition against the unknown but it's still a positive movement on our part.

Can I sign this..? I am a green card holder . I am a permanent resident. I wait to live with my husband.! I have filed I-130 for him since 2018 .his case was so close for interview..? What should I do ..?

***Several post removed. Remember, this thread is created to discuss signing a petition. This is NOT the thread to be asking about cases.

Things people may need to know here about this order. 1. it is a 60 day freeze on immigration for those seeking a permanent status. 2. it is designed to ensure that once the US reopens, the workers who lost their jobs are able to get them back. This will not affect applications for a temporary visits, which by design that is what a K1 visa is (because a change of status is needed once the couple marries). and it will not affect visa's that are for minor children. To my knowledge, USCIS is still processing visa's, this will only effect those who are in the process of receiving an I551 card currently.

*** Once again, this thread is for signing the petition. Nothing more. Continuing to post political banter, information about personal cases, or other unrelated topics may lead to suspensions.

We don't know yet if this will affect spouses. It is likely that it won't. So you might not need to wait.

Hopefully it won’t affect spouses..but on the other side I can see ..it will be affective because I am a green card holder in US who has filed the application for my husband as based on green card..! 😭😭😭😭😭😭I thought my time is finally there..but it still to wait live with my husband..!😭He is living overseas..!
