Now I realize this is a hot thread right now, whats the general consensus on waiting for AP, work permit and green card. All applied for back in November and at least AP and work permit were due end of March but this all changed wit Covid understandably delayed. With this new order do people think this will all just be delayed more or stopped in anyway

Hope everyone is well and looking after themselves

Will & Jenny :)

Not to ruin your mood. But the order is mainly aiming at migrant workers that are on workers visa. Yikes.

Wish you the best!

I did apply, around the same time when I filed the petition for my husband to join me in the US. Funny enough the I-130 is already approved and we're waiting for document review at NVC, while my citizenship application is still pending (and interview won't be scheduled anytime soon). Yes, let's hope for the best. After all the media outlets seem to have different opinions on that part...

Yup , in the end. The more that we click on those links the more $ the media get lol.

Please don't listen to anybody and just risk it. I was supposed to arrive here by  January 1, but I got sick ( some virus) , and I had to postpone my flight by 3 weeks. When I recovered, I wanted to have some personal issues attended to first, but I suddenly realized, this Covid -19 ( even flights from China were still not banned at that time) could become just as dangerous as the Spanish Flu ( my great grandmother had it 100 years ago  in 1919, so I learned about it when I was still a toddler). I left at once, and I don't regret it, although I was still weak after the infection. Please do the same now.

I hear you but it's hard to pull the trigger.

It is understandable for many to be upset. But for children over 21, you are considered an adult. There is some logic to it. You can fend for yourself. You can start a family of your own. You can work. You can start a business. You can buy a house. A child that is 8 or 9 years old can not do those things.

Certainly, I'm not mad they're letting children and spouses in, it's the wait time we all endured, worst part is that I had already sold my car and everything for this trip which got cancelled, as I was ready to go; worst part is that who knows what will happen if our Visas expire and we're not able to get in in time, they haven't provided guidelines and it's at the discretion of the counselor ATM, this is what's most nerve wrecking, I wouldn't mind if they would say extensions would be made but right now is "Good luck!". :(

Wouldn’t she be able to return to her country whatsoever if something goes wrong?

Considering the situation, think about every possibility. Everything changes everyday.

I was also early on the coronavirus wave, but when I talked about it to just about everyone, I sounded crazy and alarmist, even as late as March 13. I thought this would be something that complicated life and travel for at least many months. But we didn't pull the trigger. This is a similar situation except now I'm afraid of being denied.

I understand. But please be a little more patient. I know it is easier said than done. There may be extensions offered later on. We don't know the complete details yet.

i agree in that we dont know how long this will last. I am worried we will be in a "state of emergency" for a long time, therefore allowing trump to put orders like this through easily

Entry to Ecuador is not permitted by law, for anyone, even citizens. So any flights that arrive there can only have crew members. It seems that once in a while an Ecuadorian airline does a flight to Florida, like this one...since people are allowed to come to the US. But no one can come to Ecuador and if they had to I'm guessing it would be a forced, not at home quarantine. Under those conditions, there are barely any if any fights to Ecuador.

Me and My wife did DCF and she has the immigrant visa issued in her passport but we have not entered USA yet, does it mean she will be turned back at the border? Since they would issue green card on arrival, at least that what was told???

Maybe it's up to your fiancée? Does she feels ready to face the worst possible scenario? Certainly not an easy decision.

I've been gathering information here, discussing with you all, to report. I already told her exactly what the president said and what the media reported. It's certainly up to her. I just wanted to come on here and know if everyone else thought this Trump speech was as vague as I did. It's so strange how the media is talking about it in terms of absolutes. The Washington Post interpreted something totally different than the New York Times. Vast majority say that he is suspending issuing green cards, and he kind of implied it, but WaPo says "entering" the US. It's just so confusing. Many here think it is too so I'm not alone.

Everything we are hearing from those who have seen the leaked order are saying it exempts spouses and children of American citizens, family/spousal visas are likely to still be ok.  The only challenge is for those who don't yet have theirs... finding an open embassy is a challenge right now.

DCF CR1 filing in Guangzhou, China:

Married - 2018-09-25

I-30 submitted at Guangzhou office - 2019-06-17
I-130 approved - 2019-06-18
DS-260 Confirmation Handed to CITIC to be Delivered - 2019-11-12-2019

DS-260 Approved, received email to schedule appointment - 2019-11-20-2019

Visa Interview in Guangzhou (Approved!) 😁 2019-12-16-2019

Immigration Visa Issued 2019-12-17-2019
