I was listening to him. It sounded like all green cards were affected but not temporary visas - including H1B, O, etc.

H1Bs, O1s, L1s and E2s are all dual intent which allow for AOS.  I agree, the presser was very vague, but I suspect it will be those classes of work visas.  E2 investor visas may still be allowed since investment in the US may be encouraged, but who knows.

This is so incredibly vague. I'm currently in the US on a K1 waiting til I can get married and file the AOS papers. What the heck am I supposed to do then? Fly back to my home country with the risk of spreading something even though the airports are closed? 🙄

If you really look at the antibody testing, it isn't that good at the individual level.

Example:  Let's say you have a test that is 98% accurate and 1% of people actually have had covid-19.   For 100,000 people, 1,000 people have had covid 19.  At 98% accuracy, the test will report a false positive on the 99,000 people that haven't had it of 1,980 people.  The false positives are more than the true positives.   You have to then also add the actual positives,  so the testing will say 2,980 people have had Covid-19 when in fact only 1,000 people have had it.   At best, this will just give us an idea of trends.   For the tests to be reliable at the individual level, the error needs to be in the tenths or hundredths of a percent.    We may never have this.

I realize the Ab testing for Covid is in its infancy.  Also, the rate of false negatives due to issues with technique and test kits is very high.  My point was in response to the person who wrote "luckily there is a medical exam for visas," i.e. I've read nothing official that any Covid-related testing has been added to those immigration medicals.

I wouldn't think so. You are already here and came legally. Until the EO is published, hopefully tomorrow, I would continue preparing AOS documents.

Excellent.  You're in legal status now as you wait for your AOS interview.  Some folks are actually having the interview requirement waived apparently.

Hi there! Did you see or know anyone waiting for AOS interview and getting it waived? I was about to have mine one mid April... but I am just waiting for the reschedule appointment 🤨

*irony on*

shouldn't be that much of an issue to add it though. Other countries seem to have less issues with test availability :D

Trump expecting to sign EO tomorrow. It will have certain exemptions but he didn’t detail what those are.

Probably because he doesn't know. Thank you all for posting the live updates!

"But the order, issued as a pause lasting from 30 to 90 days, includes major exemptions. So-called essential workers, including health care workers, will still be able to receive green cards, as will nuclear family members. And, notably, the administration will also continue processing visas for temporary workers, the biggest source of immigration at the moment."

So, who are "nuclear family" members?

Trump was just asked a question from Bret Baier (Fox) if the EO would include exemptions and Trump said yes it will include exemptions, but Trump didn't want to detail what these exemptions are.  He said we'd have to wait for the EO tomorrow
