Great news if true not sure fiancé visa is included but we will find out in an hour or so with the WH briefing. #Stressed

Last year, about one million people were granted green cards, though the order will not bar all of them. American citizens seeking to bring their children or spouses to the United States would still be allowed to do so, the person said.”

This means my son is still OK to come. I uploaded all documents yesterday evening and submitted them.

Have we considered the possibility that, in the absence of anything resembling an official or even vaguely-plausible leaked draft text of the order, that the entire tweet was an elaborate bluff to put pressure on the negotiation teams hammering out the details of the second stimulus bill which is in the final stages of preparation?

A lot of what comes out of Trump's twitter account (and press conferences for that matter) is tactical negotiation rhetoric, rather than settled policy. He could very well just be bad-copping for the Republican congressional negotiators.

I think that was a possibility last night.  But, sounds like the Executive Order and is close to being finalized, ready for signature tonight or tomorrow.

I've been a Trump supporter from day 1, but that tweet last night at 10pm was over the top bad...   This wasn't just a policy thing:  That was seriously messing with people's lives.   I jumped on here immediately and saw the first thread on the topic grow to 19 pages in like one hour.   Everyone was freaking out.

Let's hope we get some clarity on this soon.

scary stuff. So it sounds like only immediate family members will be exempt from this bar, yet to be determined if fiances are included? I assume this means those already in the process of AOS will not be affected (if they are filing through a parent/spouse).

agreed. I think if even some people will ultimately agree with the ban, the fact that it was tweeted at 10pm in the general manner it was, prompting hundreds of thousands of people freaking out is terrible and not presidential at all.

correct, but a USC *could* and *would* do the job given the right pay & conditions is my point.

I'm going a little crazy with this...

I filed my AOS from K-1 and tracking says it got there on March 23rd, so a month later and I haven't received the email confirmation or the letter or anything and now this. I followed all the rules and I know things are backed up right now , but it's scary not to know if I'm suddenly here illegally because the rules changed with no explanation or notice.

I know some of you here are also in the middle of AOS (I am so so sorry for those stuck in the CR-1 or K-1 phase, the frustration and pain you must be feeling would destroy me) but is anyone else stuck in that first pre-step as well? How long did it take to even get a freaking notification that it was received if you filed since January? I filed form G-1145 and nothing

This is just such a terrifying mess

Fiancés are not immediate relatives.  That being said, a K1 is still a family based visa, so we will have to wait and see.

If the speculation of spouses being exempt is out there makes me curious to know if K1 would be since ultimately we will become a spouse?
And in the DS160 they listed fiancé under immediate family to be included...

😂Don’t mind me. I’m a K1 applicant. Just grasping at straws here and hoping for the best until tonight! Just like you and everyone here I am waiting and seeing. Crossing my fingers for everyone here!

Any idea about those who got their green cards and Social Security cards but are out of US. Technically they are residents

You will not be affected, I guarantee it. A temporary ban on some kinds of new immigration is an entirely different kind of thing than blocking GC holders from reentering the country.

If you have a GC in your hand, you've already immigrated, and none of this affects you at all.
