LoL, no doubt. Good to have help as well. The volume of posts can be overwhelming. VJ is a truly unique resource and requires a small army to police.

Good luck, y'all.

P.S. Just one question, how did the OP reference a tweet from Trump that came 24 hours AFTER the first post in this thread? Clairvoyance or thread is retrofitted?

We had been saving up to pay for the I-130 packet fees, and were just about ready to file at last when everything went effectively on pause... This is so disheartening to hear.

Even if nothing is being processed right now, should we attempt to send our packet? I just want my husband here with me, now more than ever and feel like there's no end in sight. 😢

There is no pause in processing other than the ones requiring in person visits. USCIS is processing cases the same way as before, may be a bit affected if less manpower due to the virus.

Go ahead and file for i130.

You should send it. All the signs indicate that the suspension likely won’t include family based applications. Everything will work out in the end.

Here is another positive article on this topic that seems to also confirm this immigration shutdown wouldn't include family visas:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/trump-migrant-ban-lacks-details-agencies-caught-off-guard/ar-BB12WKNc?li=BBnb7Kz

I guess they are just quoting from bloomberg, the first article that was shared. Thanks tho :)

My bad, you are right.  That sucks :(

However it would be quite useless to include fiancé visas in the EO, as beneficiaries always have to wait several months anyway before they can receive their work authorization, and when they receive such permission they already are spouses of US citizens. It wouldn’t really make sense to me honestly. But this is obviously only my opinion, the only thing we can do is wait for the details.

Why isn’t this whole site exploding? Any details on this-spousal vs. work visas, whether people currently mid process are affected, etc.? Can’t seem to find anything...

I think because he hasn't done it as yet, no one knows what is going to happen. He tweeted without any details and if anything during the press briefing it will be addressed. I can't imagine what difference it would make to Covid cases in the US at this point. Don't ban immigration, increase screening procedures. They already have banned several countries and could ensure that it's not being brought in by travel (which is already in place, so wth???) or immigration bans. I say wait until the press briefing. I only see things on Twitter about his tweet, but nothing about the details, who's going to be impacted, or for how long it will be or what it will look like.

Exactly, and isn't that what the Affidavit of Support is for?  That's a legal document stating I will support her financially while living here in the USA.

I'm not exactly sure, but I went back and read some more of the thread. There have been articles with more info. I'm sure there'll be more information, but here's an article stating that family based/employment based should not be affected:
