Hi

For those that have recently been approved CR1/IR1, when at NVC stage, what paperwork did you upload for civil documents? Did you need to add anything under additional documents? Do London ask for anything other than what’s on the required list?

I can see on the interview list that it says to bring proof of ongoing relationship, so do we need to upload anything like that? Or is it a bring just in case?

Trying to make sure we put everything needed on so we don’t have to wait any longer than necessary with everything being closed at the moment!!

Thanks

I was approved December 2016 so not that recently bug the procedure is still the same, even if the location is now much nicer.

Upload everything that the NVC asks for. You will then subsequently get an interview list for London. They won’t ask you for anything you don’t already have, except the medical - which you will book once you get your interview appointment confirmation. The medical will be couriered to the embassy by Knightsbridge Doctors.

“Proof” of ongoing relationship? How on earth could such a thing exist? How can you prove your feelings are genuine? Impossible. In any event, I recall only one case where someone at the London embassy was asked for evidence of the relationship and that was a Nigerian living in London who had entered the UK on a marriage visa, divorced almost immediately after and then married an American and started the process to immigrate to the US all within about a year. It was obviously a concern of the embassy that the individual was marrying purely for immigration benefit.

Thank you for your reply 😊 I appreciate it. There seems to be loads of info for K1s and a lot of info for NVC stage at other embassies but not much for London so it’s reassuring to hear that I’m probably over thinking this and literally just need to upload what is asked and not any extras.

There is a UK forum on here where you can ask London specific questions.

https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

The clinic is called Visa Medicals and their website will let you know the documentation you will need to get in advance of the medical exam. http://www.visamedicals.co.uk/us-bring.htm

This post is already on the London forum. I knew it would be the best place to ask.

I’ve already looked over the medical website too. It was the NVC paperwork filing bit I just wanted clarification on as the link didn’t provide information for immigrant visas. I assume that everyone just uploaded the standard list of requested documents and no additional documents as it doesn’t mention anything extra.

Oh duh 🤦‍♂️  Sorry about that. I saw your post in portals.

Yes follow list. London won’t want anything extra like proof of relationship or photos together.
