I think it's foolish to believe that Trump was saying it's a cureall for COVID19. But the world is full of fools. That's why it's important to put information out there with CLEAR caveats that the drug is being explored as a possible cure. I think Trump has muddied the waters where it comes to the drug. Maybe it's just the way that he talks, but he hasn't been clear enough, in my opinion, that its use is still experimental. When he says things like "What do you have to lose?" (which he did say about it) it can ping things in people's brains.

 

Werds mean something, or so @Nature Boy 2.0 told me. So we need to use our werds carefully now and be more clear that the drug isn't a magic bullet.

This is one thing that some people still haven't gotten used to.

I didn't understand it either until someone observed, "He's from Queens," and then the light went on.

The Pres. speaks exactly like my two separate former colleagues from Queens did.

One has to interpret them figuratively, not literally.

Trying to interpret the Pres. literally is a recipe for misunderstanding.

Whether or not Trump claimed it's a cure (not sure he did,  the only thing I saw was him saying it showed promise, or was effective, or something close to that)... anyone who listens to a politician for medical advice is probably not the smartest person out there.  And even if someone BELIEVED Trump told them.it would cure them, they still have to get it prescribed by a physician, right?  (I mean, unless they have access to a pet store)

 

I cannot read the article because I don't subscribe to the NYT, but if the title is accurate, the doc deserves to be charged with fraud, because even simple people like us know it's nowhere NEAR 100% effective against covid.  Sounds like one of those idiot "experts" we are told we should believe in.

Sad to see that it's happening, but I agree, slap the fines on the idiots.  I mean, if someone is dying, and there appears to be no hope, by all means, give it a try.  They might be one of the lucky ones who need the jumpstart and it keeps them alive.
