NY Post Wrecks Facebook Over Their Wuhan Lab “Fact Checking”

Now, of course, we’ve learned that our own government is looking into whether the virus escaped the lab in Wuhan and it’s quickly becoming the new consensus opinion. And this week the New York Post took Facebook to task for their sloppy, censorial work. They also point out that the “independent fact-checkers” involved were far from independent. Further, Chinese labs have a proven record of letting dangerous viruses escape in the past.

I heard Sharyl Attkisson mention this in an interview.  One of the reasons I dropped FB over two years ago and have not looked back.

Smart man.  I have disabled my account from time to time, but alas, it is the only way I tend to stay in touch with many of my old friends, and I miss that.  Kind of like my VJ family here.  Like a moth to the flame...

I know what you mean, with this tyranny in place, I considered going back to FB, but so far have held out.

Another reason to stay away from FB.  Apparently they are very much against free speech and the right to protest government action.  Can anyone find a good comparison?  I was thinking the KCNA.

I know someone who got banned from FB recently for posting a pic that was totally innocuous.  Their excuse?  It "violated their community standards".  Another person posted the very same pic, and had it removed, but there was no restriction from FB.  Really amazing what FB is able to block because someone in their ivory tower doesn't agree with it.

People don't use phones anymore? It was just weird having so many family members on FB, none of whom ever actually talked to us, but were given all insights to our personal life. It's a very one-sided and unfulfilling relationship.. one of the numerous reasons we deleted our FB accounts.

 

At any rate, Facebook isn't nearly as bad as Twitter. I lost several accounts on Twitter, one of which was lost because a deranged leftist blue checkmark replied "bot" and so Twitter admins just banned the account. And even when I wasn't banned, I was repeatedly shadowbanned, while shadowban.eu was busy exposing Twitter's malicious "downranking" (shadow banning) techniques. The left have demonstrated in recent years they have nothing to offer the public discourse, hence resorting to authoritarian tactics. These tactics were more obscure before, but it's yet another thing that's rapidly surfaced because of Trump.

I've never had a twitter account, and never will.  I only keep FB for my daughter, who failed to listen to me a couple or three years ago, and now has no cell phone service, and an only connect on FB messenger via WiFi because her father refuses to help her with a phone bill.

I also have never used Twitter or IG.  VJ is my only real social media vice.
