Hello guys!! Have a good day. Our case just got approved and I have a little question regarding the information they are asking on the DS 260. Why do they need our information about the educational institutes we've studied at? Do they verify it with the institutes if we have put legit details on the form? I mean what is the purpose of it?

Whether they check or not is irrelevant. It must be answered truthfully. It serves a variety of purposes. Demographics, public charge assessment, etc.

*~*~*procedural question moved from “progress reports” to “process and procedures”*~*~*

One is to just have the information of people who they wanna welcome as residents. Other reason is to see how truthful people are. Why should one even think of if one needs to put legit info.

1. Always tell the truth

2. never lie fudge or omit

3 always tell the truth , never lie fudge or omit

4 see rule 1,2,3

if they ask for it you give it to them if they ask you tell the truth

why do you need to give it .. because they ask for it

whst do they do with it ? Doesn’t matter. If you don’t like it then you don’t apply for the visa

Do they verify it ? Doesn’t matter. The risk isn’t worth it

a good Education and work experience are greatly needed to live in the US so you can live decently and not "pay check to pay check"

Yes but education is not a primary determinant in immediate relative applications. Unlike some countries , immigrants do not need to meet a minimum “ points” .. of which education is one measure.. in order to be granted a visa

Your job is not to ask questions like "why?".  Your job is simply to comply.......😄

I don't think it'll be possible. Cuz I'm from Sweden. They do not have our records do they?

They WILL run background checks......

"

National Visa Center (NVC)

When the USCIS has approved the CR1/IR1 visa petition, it is forwarded to the National Visa Center ("NVC") where original documents are reviewed and background checks are performed on both the petitioner and the beneficiary. The NVC will forward the petition to the Consulate that will conduct the visa interview. The Consulate will not interview the foreign spouse until the NVC checks have been successfully completed."

To my knowledge US and Sweden share info (e.g. fingerprints and such) and I’m sure the US has ways to confirm things, if they please to do so.
