Governor of Texas announces plan start re-opening the state

This is a summary I have seen:

 

Summary:

1) "Reopening plan will be guided by data and scientists"

2) Formed statewide strike-force to formulate reopening plan

3) Will develop comprehensive plan to test and track COVID-19

4) Starting April 22nd, restrictions on doctors are loosened to allow more treatment for non-COVID-19 patients

5) Starting April 24th, all retailers are permitted to operate "Retail-to-go" model

6) Starting April 20th, State Parks will reopen, with restrictions.

7) Schools will remain closed for remainder of the year. Teachers will be allowed in classrooms however to do whatever they need.

8. Additional openings announced April 27th at the advisement of strikeforce

9) More openings announced in May dependent on infection rate decline, hospital room availability, comprehensive testing availability.

The data had better be accurate (for once), and nobody has elected these scientists to anything.

Too many deaths of people "with" the virus have been attributed to "because of" the virus.

Hospitals get $13,000 per reported virus death and $39,000 if that person was on a ventilator.

Regardless, a far, FAR better plan than other governors will decree.

If it goes awry, and Joe becomes President, the governor can just remind Joe that Hillary was the 45th President and if he has a problem to take it up with her.

I really do think that the more autocratic Democrat governors will be hoist on their own petards by upset citizens.

This might also hose their entire party, come November.

   Not to beat a dead horse or anything, but reimbursement has nothing to do with the reported cause of death to the CDC. The numbers you are talking about are medicare reimbursements for hospitals that treat uninsured patients with suspected Covid-19. Medical billing is not ever based on cause of death, it's based on symptoms and treatment.  

 

   For most people with Covid-19, hospitals will be billing insurance. Reimbursement won't have anything to do with the government for most people. 

 

   The conspiracy stuff is just getting nuts. Hospitals aren't making money off of this, and for anyone who see and treats these critically ill people, the end of this can't come soon enough.

  The hospital where I work has lost $124 million since March 1st. No one in the world gains anything from this going on longer than it has to. That includes hospitals. We all know life sucks right now, and we all want this to end. We don't need fallacious reasoning to get there.

Texas is one of the earliest states to plan to reopen.  I think that the state plan is a bit too slow.
