Every state has to meet certain criteria before the "gate" opens.   Not every state will be ready at the same time.  Trump is giving a lot of flexibility to each govenor to make decisions on "opening " up.  States like Montana,  North Dakota and Wyoming are probably ready right now.  East coast states are gonna be a  while.

If they open some of the states gates at the airport, all the immigrants are going to try to entry the country from these gates and it is going to be so crowded, long lines and the customs right? Maybe they open all the gates at the same time to avoid this complication.

The day I got approved for my CR1 Spouse Visa, the day the travel ban went in place. I had no chance of getting out of the country. They just keep cancelling my flights, but for know we will keep re-booking them :(. Everyone hang in there. I believe I am exempt from the ban as I'm a spouse but it's actually getting a flight which is the issue.

The one thing I'm wondering is if embassies won't open sooner, considering that they're part of the federal government and abroad, meaning that states don't have anything to do with it.

The main problem for us is going to be the travel ban, which I don't really expect him to lift, ever.

Even if states reopen, they still won't let anyone in who's been in one of the travel ban countries.

This is a multilevel problem for a lot of us. You need the US to open embassies and borders, you need your country to open up for business so you can do your medical and interview (I couldn’t do any of it right now even if the embassy was running, because there are restrictions for travel between cities), and you need the country you might be connecting through to allow foreigners to fly in.

Really nothing for us to do but do our part to lower the numbers and be patient.

My opinion: A POTUS cannot dictate when a state opens up.......the Constitution gives more power to the states that to the US government.

"Tenth Amendment. The Tenth Amendment was part of the Bill of Rights that was added to the Constitution on December 15, 1791. This amendment states that any power not specifically given to the federal government by the Constitution belongs to the States and the people."
