"other relatives" confusion, anxiety

Ive previously studied in the states on a visa. For the question in the ds160 "Do you have any other relatives" I answered no.

However, a sibling of mine is moving to the states and has listed a few distant cousins and an aunt ( who I never knew existed) for that question, who reside in the U.S. My family is big on that side if the family and have not met/known every relative.

I'm hoping to go on a j1 next summer, but now it might look like I lied or committed fraud by not listing relatives who i have never met or known to exist or reside in the U.S. Obviously I will have to list them now. Apart from that, everything else is fine on my application.

I'm guessing I'll automatically get denied?

You can't fill in details what you don't know. You don't have to fill relatives with no contact/acknowledgement.

Thanks Nancy! If I mention them for my next visa will it cause issues?Ive never met them before in my life nor have been made aware of their presence

I got whole bunch of cousins even my grandma but I didn't list them at all when I filed for my F-1 -> naturalization because I have no knowledge about them, I just knew they are in the States.
