Me and my husband are currently stuck in Germany. We were in Germany for the visa renewal and once the travel ban for Europe was announced our passports were with the embassy so we could not take the next flight back home to Chicago, where we live and work since 3 years. We already got are passports back but cannot travel back home due to the travel ban. Does anyone know how to handle the situation. We really want to go back home to our place and are not sure what to do. Stuck here since 8th March and were supposed to fly back March 22nd.

There is nothing you can do except waiting for the lockdown to be lifted. Good luck.

They hold L1 visas. They are not permanent residents, and therefore are not exempt.

No we are both Germans,  but live in the US. We both have L1/2 visas.

We thought about traveling to another (not banned country) but are not sure which one allows Germans to entry currently. We would stay there for 14 days and then fly back to Chicago

Sent you a DM - I'm in a similar boat with my German girlfriend stuck in Stuttgart (she has a J1 visa in hand) until the ban is lifted.
