Im on a conditional green card, and im separated, but no yet divorced.

Since we filed the last tax return together, ..he did not give me ANY money from the tax return. saying that he had to fix his car.....I was upset, but ok!

now that US gave us today the Coronavirus $2400 check. he said he will not give me my part ( $1200 )...its already on our joint account...but he won't let me get my part....

is there anything that I can do???

I also think he is using my SSN to get unemployment as a Uber or Lyft driver ( I have not been driving for Lyft or uber for more than a year )..... I don't know if he can do that...but is there any way I can find out if he is using my SSN to do stuff like that??? --- I think he is doing that to get more money ( its just a suspicion but my friend that is his neighbor said he was up to something like that )

A joint account means you can also access it.

This is more of civil issues rather than immigration issues. Best to seek legal (lawyer) and authoritative (police) guidance.

Find a good divorce attorney...asap....if you already have a good divorce attorney, instruct him to contact your spouse immediately.

im too afraid to transfer the money to my other account. he is gonna be very mad...

are you living in a safe place ? You might look at accessing support services for women dealing with abuse .. he is abusing you and his behaviour is abusive .. living in fear is very damaging .. there are supports available .. don’t go through this alone ..

Hi I don't know what to tell you to do. But I was in a similar situation. I made my own bank account and switched my paycheck into that because my ex wouldn't let me have my own money that I worked for. It was a long and difficult road but I eventually made it out. I also had to file a fraud claim against him and his mother for stealing my SSN that they used to open a business. I wish you good luck.
