They can make exceptions to policy and procedures,  they can't make exceptions that go against the actual law.  If i am not mistaken,  the medical validity is hard coded.

Any word on when the Manila field office will be open again?

First step I am guessing is up to Duterte.  ECQ in Manila needs to be lifted first

YMMV

Yeah we just have to wait and see.  So hard being separated with our loved ones during this time. I hope that reuniting with loved ones is considered essential travel.

2go is up and running as far as I know, but they just shut down passenger traffic to and from Philippines, as of May 3.

Another issue might be getting out of the country. The Philippines Department of Transportation (DOT) said its possible that Thry will not allow flights out of the country until 2021.

I checked 2go a month ago and they said that they haven't received our visa at this point. So it sounds like we have to wait until the visa office reopens. No word on whether or not they are an essential business or not when GCQ starts. Hope to learn more. Does anyone know?  Thanks for the info!

I understand there needs to be some "new normal" rules of engagement but what is proposed in the news article is Stalinism at its best. It gives me reason not to return to the PI anytime soon as the liberties and freedoms that once existed are going to be "wiped" out. Oy Vey!!!

Stalinism?  The only thing being discussed is international travel (which a majority of Filipinos can't afford anyway), nothing about limiting domestic travel or opening up the country to a more normal life and intra island movement.

YMMV

This is completely different. And those "special flights" are inbound from USA to Manila.

They very well could ban flights out of the Philippines until 2021.

So basically this would mean anyone with a K1 visa in the Philippines will have to let their visas expire because nobody can fly. That would be so difficult on all of us if this is true!  Do we know if this article is talking about nonesstential travel or all travel?  Philippine air still has limited flights so I am not sure if we can totally trust that article 100%.

Why do things have to be so complicated.  Do we know if this article is talking about nonessential travel or all travel?  Philippine air still has limited flights so I am not sure if we can totally trust that article 100%.

But a big part of having a visa is flying internationally. :(

So what will happen to all of our K1 visas?
