Not sure if I am thinking too far ahead here but looking for insight! I had my K1 medical in September 2019 and was expecting to not have to get a new one for the AOS interview since they are good for a year. Now that things are getting delayed I am not confident I'll have my AOS interview by September 2020 anymore. Do you think they will be extending that year eligibility for the medicals or will everyone with delayed interviews just be expected to get new ones? They are expensive!!

There is no expiration date on medicals done abroad in that regard. You're good to go if you file for AOS within 1 year from the date of the medical, the medical doesn't age out after that. There used to be a 1 year validity on medicals done within the US, they have now extended it to 2 years. But that has nothing to do with medicals done abroad.

There has been a few cases where the IO who conducts the interview doesn't know their own rules and the applicant has been asked to renew the medical, but that shouldn't happen.

This is good news, thank you!! I must have been getting outdated information (which happens all the time ugh). I'm also pregnant so I wasn't really keen on having to go through the headache of getting the chest x-ray waived.
