Expedite EAD due to no health insurance

Hey,

We just called USCIS to request an expedite for the EAD due to me (UK citizen) having no health insurance. I left the UK with travel insurance which has now expired and I'm unable to renew as they won't offer any policy amid the pandemic. We filed the request under humanitarian issues due to the ongoing global pandemic and having no insurance and my inability to get health insurance due to no SSN. Does anyone have a similar experience with this?

Many Thanks :)

I don't see any connection between EAD and health insurance, but you are free to request expedition. You can go to healthcare.gov and obtain health insurance because you are qualified for special enrollment period.

I called healthcare.gov and the woman said I might need a SSN, which I cannot get until I have an EAD. Also I cannot prove my immigration status because USPS lost my NOA1.

Well generally Travel Insurance does not cover new immigrants.

You do not need a SSN to but Health Insurance

Is this a K1, SSN is the first thing you get.

You will have a Sponsor who agrees to meet your needs.

No this is an adjustment of status by marrying an US Citizen. I don't get my SSN until the EAD is processed

VWP Express?

Best bet is to be added to your spouse arrangements.

His health insurance (BCBS-IL) needs a SSN for spouses to be added

Blue Cross Blue Shield, you need to check again.

1. If you buy through the ACA, you never mentioned that you need a NOA1, not a SSN.

2. You do not have to buy through the ACA.
