Hi all. Hope you are safe and healthy! I am wondering if one can add an updated document on the CEAC system under "additional documents" at the bottom once one has ALREADY submitted the Required Documents.

Background info: We uploaded my husband's police certificate (which was issued over 1 year ago) with a letter explaining that even though it was issued over 1 year ago,  according to the document requirements a police certificate is considered still valid if the person has not been in the country since it was issued (which he hasn't). Source: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-5-collect-financial-evidence-and-other-supporting-documents/step-7-collect-civil-documents.html

However, we have since obtained an updated police certificate for him. Is there any way we can add that to the system without being sent to the back of the line again? I was thinking maybe we could add it under "additional documents" at the bottom of the page with a comment that it is a more recent version? but we don't want to get sent to the back of the line? any thoughts?

Thank you!

Just take it with you to the interview and that will suffice.

Hey! Yea we will for sure do that, but what I am worried about is them rejecting the police certificate again. The first time they rejected it, we had not included the explanation letter that it was in fact still valid since my husband has not been to the country since before it was even issued. This time we have that explanation letter included and we included a screenshot and quote from the US Dept of State website. Hopefully that will be enough. We submitted that again at the end of February. However, since we now have a brand new police certificate, it would be awesome if there were a way to tack that on there and not get sent to the end of the line..

I have seen a lot of people here say that they submitted some documents first and a month later they submitted the rest and they heard from NVC on the dates they made their first submission.
