Green Card's information remaining unavailable after 120 days

Hi guys,

My uncle has been sponsored to the U.S. under an F4 visa as an additional applicant of the case's principal applicant. He paid for his green card on 25th October, 2019; until now, it has been over 04 months, but besides a receipt of his payment, no further information in regard to his card is available to him.

As he could not speak English, I have been looking for a way of contacting USCIS so as to ask about the delay of his case. And, I found a website that allows me to send e-requests regarding Non-delivery of card (you can take a look here: https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayNDCForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=ndc).

On the page, in the case information section, there is a list of forms (or form numbers) which must be selected for further processing. My question is according to my uncle's case, which form I am supposed to choose to ask for his card's status. And, besides the page mentioned above, is there any other way of contacting USCIS for such request?

I hope to receive support from the forum's members and anyone who has ever faced this problem before.

Thank you,

Please forgive me for any mistake regarding post policies found herein.

When did he enter the US - is that the 4 months you refer to?

green card is form I551. (I haven’t looked at your link but look for something like that). Online forms are generally the best way to submit enquiries, as it leaves a paper trail. Not sure how much priority is being placed on these at present. His stamped visa is a temporary green card until one year after he entered so he can use that when he needs to show proof of status,

Also please let your uncle know almost every community has somewhere (library, community college, adult education part of high school system etc) that offers free english as a second language classes aimed at immigrants.

Hi SusieQQQ,

Thanks for your response!

My uncle entered the U.S. in November 2019. It should be around February 2020 when the period of 120 days ended.

The form I551 you mentioned is not involved in the list, which includes CRI89 - I181 - I485 - I175 - I765 - I829 - I90 - OS155A. I have checked and see that form OS155A is closest to Green Card issue after arival. But still, I am glad to receive further clarification or confirmation of this information.

And, your recommendation regarding his English is great. I will show him your message. He is also trying his best to improve his language.

Best regards.

Yeah that’s right if you click that then you will see further down the form is a section “Card type” asking which card was not received, and “permanent resident card” is one of the options under that.

Just google “free ESL lessons near me”, it should come up with options. Always go for something in the public education system or library/community center if possible.
