Hi guys,

I'm just finishing with my N-400 form and there is a question which is a little confusing to me.

Part 7.

Time outside the United States

C -List all the trips of 24 hours or more that you have taken outside of the US since becoming a Lawful Permanent Resident.

On my paper from NSC (my AOS approval letter) it says that my conditions were removed (decision date is 12/19/2005) and now I'm LPR. But further on same paper says "You are deemd to be LPR of the US as of date of your original admission (stated on same paper as 12/12/2003) or adjustment of status.

So can somebody help me clear this up which date is now the right one 12/19/2005 or 12/12/2003 ?

Thanks!

Aleksandra

By date of original admission they mean if you entered the USA on an immigrant visa like IR-1 or CR-1, not K-visas which are non-immigrant visas. You entered the USA on a K-1, so you use the date that you first obtained LPR status, that is the date your adjustment of status was approved and the issue date on your first conditional green card 12-12-03.

Here is whats confusing me.....you say I should use the date that I first obtained LPR status (I was approved on 12/19/2005, thats the date on approval letter I got from NSC) and the issue date on your first conditional green card (which is 12-12-03). Those are two different dates, with 2 year difference.

I know that question is asking for all trips since I became LPR, that means my approval date on 12/19/2005. Am I right?

I didn't deal with USCIS for two years and I forgot how confusing they can be LOL

A person who has the 2 year conditional green card IS an LPR, only with conditions. 12-19-05 is only the date that they approved removing those conditions, You became LPR way back when they approved Adjusting status from non-immigrant to immigrant (LPR), that date was the issue date of the conditional LPR green-card (12-12-03) Edited by YuAndDan
