Quick question, my friend had her biometric appt for AOS cancelled. Is it true they will use the biometrics from her home country and continue with the process? Or is the process at a stand-still. TIA

My understanding was they will use previous biometrics that the uscis has on file not from a different country

Unfortunately for anyone in a situation like yours, USCIS won't use biometrics taken by the state department (or vis versa), so you can't get an EAD or green card issued until it's possible to get biometrics taken again. If your friend needed to renew an EAD (for example), she wouldn't need new biometrics.

 

Whether that halts any other processing of her case is hard to say.
