Ordering groceries online has suddenly gone from bad to worse

Saw SEVERAL people in the grocery store today using gloves to protect themselves.  And using their phones.  And pulling down their masks to get a breath of fresh air or scratch their nose.  About as effective as using a bulldozer to plant a flower.

I'm impressed by store employees wearing unchanged gloves and continuously touching products, money, and equipment.

Zero impact on slowing the spread, just a feel-good thing to do for the most part.  Most people have NO concept of a clean hand/dirty hand separation.

if you've seen those "chain of infection" videos...that's literally how my brain works. even with no corona. if I touch something I feel is dirty, I feel like my hands are on fire till I wash them, and no way I touch my face till then. even if I touch something else, like a door knob, I can literally imagine how I just transferred it all onto it. Believe it or not though I'm not a germaphobe lol

 

My hope is after this is over more people take hygiene more seriously and maybe, just maybe, we might end up with less flu cases every year.

Gloves with ultraviolet dye on them are a great way to learn one's habits.  The police use it as a training tool to help preserve crime scenes.  Back in January or so, I saw where a friend did it at home with their kids.  Told them to not touch their faces or anything important, then let them go about being at home for an hour or so.  The pics of the places they all touched (granted, most of us will see our homes as "safe") were pretty enlightening.  Especially the kid's faces.

Sounds excellent, but not even screaming things over & over till people's brains turn to putty will change enough glove- or mask-wearing habits to make any difference.
