I just found out some info and I thought I would share.

If you need to get a long form birth certificate, you can now fill out an online application form(http://www.cbs.gov.on.ca/MCBS/english/4U4V5Z.htm) and charge it to your credit card. It's guaranteed to arrive within 15 days.

According to the website:

You may need a certified copy (long form) of a birth certificate if:

* Your employer requires it

* You are moving to another country

* You are filling out certain citizenship documents

Keep in mind that this is only for Ontario. However, it does work, I used it to request my long form birth certificate and received it in the mail 12 days later.
