Hi all!

Despite popular belief that this was impossible, my combo card is now being produced! Last time I did biometrics was in the Brazilian consulate, and then at the port of entry.

SO excited!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

Congrats.

Does the card have any biometrics on it? If so, seems like they reused either the ones from the visa application or POE (more likely the latter).

The card is in production. I have not received it yet. When I do, I can answer this question (if I can tell whether it has biometrics on it?)

Thanks. You'll see a fingerprint on the front if it does.

Hi all, I’ll share my story also.... I am in the F2A category and was about to start consular processing in Jamaica (I didn’t receive the Welcome letter until I was already in the us) when I decided to submit my adjustment of status instead because of everything that was happening with Covid 19, I feared being away and stuck from my spouse and child.
anyway I filed my adjustment on February 21,2020, my biometrics app was scheduled for March 25 and of course it was cancelled... however, yesterday I received an email that both my EAD card and travel document were approved. I am assuming it is very much possible to receive an EAD without having done biometrics.... my last fingerprint was at the port of entry.

- April 22 2020 - NOA 1

- June 1 2020 - RFE for I-944

- June 24 2020 - Replied to RFE

- Oct 25 2020 - Fingerprint done

- Nov 9 2020 - Case ready to be scheduled for interview

Do they not all have your fingerprint on them?

I find this a little strange as it was my belief that a consular biometric was not taken by USCIS and they were not able to share the data. In the same way they should be able use your prints / photographs that have been taken when taken for CBP / Global Entry / previous US visa (if not too long ago of course)

I sent a request to expedite my EAD, however they responded saying that Biometrics are needed, and that the case is on hold until the opening of offices in June. So fingerprints are required for most cases, if not all.

I’m still a bit shocked as how it was approved... I was on a J1 visa in the summer of 2016 (I can’t even remember if we did biometrics for that). I received the approval letter last Saturday indicating that the card would be mailed separately, however, my online account has not been updated from “approved” and it’s been 7 days...  I’ll update when I receive the actual card in hand but I honestly did not do the biometrics as it was scheduled for a few days after the offices were closed.

Hi Geowrian, my card has my photograph and it says "fingerprint not available" where my thumb should be. It also says "Terms and Conditions: None." It's a combo card.

Thanks for the update! Looks like they are waiving the biometric requirement in some cases, not reusing a prior one.

P.s. the original post asks about approvals without expedite. Mine was approved in roughly two months, without an expedite request

Wow really what's your priority date?
