If it wasn't, that figure could be higher. It's not that the virus kills many people, infact it's your body's response that does. But in Italy for example, many more could have been saved if they enacted certain measures sooner than they did, didn't end up with an overwhelmed health care system, and ended up having to choose who to treat and who not to treat. Trust me, you don't want that happening. And lockdown right now is an important component of flattening the curve.

The anti-A is just neutralizing it so it cant enter the respiratory cells, but your immune system would still react to the virus. We should still achieve herd immunity at some point. That has to be a partial or running figure, because some people are still sick.  In addition, it excludes those who recovered and didn't tell their doctors, as was mentioned.

3205 people would have to have recovered to get to your 9/10 figure.

  Theoretically maybe, for the general population. I'm not sure how many people actually know their blood type though.

There is no way to ensure any accuracy on the figures, any of them.

Very true.  It's pretty obvious by now that deaths are overattributed to the virus and that recoveries will, by nature, be undercounted/never counted.  However, recovery figures -- such as they are -- should be reported along with numbers of deaths, I still think.

They are reported every day, that's how I calculate the active cases.

Been using them both daily, even though someone here seemed to think they weren't accurate or something.

Yeah, I use worldometer daily for my calculations. They seem to be just as accurate if not more accurate than the john hopkins one which I used initially.

I trust worldometers more because they cite sources very clearly and usually directly from official sources in the native language....and the Hopkins map actually lists worldometers as a source, so there's that.

I like to look at both, just gives me a sense of what errors there may be from day to day.  And they are both off from each other from time to time, but it usually self-corrects within a day.
