I have no interest in ridiculous statements. I have donated a fair amount to Bernie and I'm sure he'll put the funds to good use.

Bernie is what America needs, Biden and Trump are what it deserves. Shame, shame, shame.

You are the QUINTESSENTIAL liberal supporter.  You will remain blind to facts and loyal to your candidate.  I see this a lot, and I fail to understand how people can behave thusly.  Really is mind boggling.

Do you SEE what you did there?

I'm not a liberal supporter. I don't agree with liberals on a lot of things. I just think conservatives are outright insane.

I'd be curious to know see a legitimate source on that nonsense but I seriously doubt such one exists.

well that doesn't leave a lot of room for you to agree with, does it?

I agree with progressives a lot but not on everything. I try not to put myself in a certain category because that makes you biased. But so many right wing points are insane. They're just way too out there.

Fair enough, perhaps liberal was the wrong term.  I know I don't really fit any particular mold.  But I certainly could not get behind Bernie due to his socialist ideas.  I worked hard for what I have, and  don't feel I should lose any of it because someone else has less.

The wife and stepdaughter nonsense.

Oh, so your wealth is more than $32 million? I didn't know we had such wealthy people here on visa journey. Those are the people who were going to be affected by Bernie's wealth tax.

Or maybe you make more than $500K a year and you'll have to pay 3% more marginal tax? If so, congratulations, too bad you don't care if poor (and middle class even) people have healthcare.

well you may wish to rethink these statements:
"I just think conservatives are outright insane." and "I try not to put myself in a certain category because that makes you biased"

but you can put conservatives in a "certain category" which is a bias.

Do you know how much media buyers make from campaigns?  I would have loved to be Mike Bloomberg’s media buyer.

It's extremely rare to hear anything reasonable from the conservatives. That's just my experience. I often don't agree with liberals. Conservatives are on a different level, way too out there and very far from any reasonable discussion point.

Ahhh, that.  Well, I wasn't the one who posted about it, so I cannot comment.

I never said that.  I AM rich, but it's with ideas and logic, not moolah, lol.

As for #3, not sure what $500k has to do with anything (You did not specify a filing category, so I don't want to assume anything)?  Here's the marginal tax brackets for 2020 if it helps further the discussion:

As for #2, is that $32 million you mention regarding active or passive income?

This is true. At some point I wondered if his teeth were going to fall out on live tv. At any rate a person of his age and health condition doesn't belong running for president.

He's the poorest member of Congress. He has a place in DC, as he is required to, his house in Vermont and a summer cabin bought with his wife's inheritance. Also, he obviously gets paid well as a senator. You seriously think this makes him rich? My condo in Southern California is more expensive than his houses, am I super rich now?

So you have a house and then you also have a condo in Cali? Ummm.. well to us "poors" standards, yes you are quite wealthy. He's not the poorest member of congress by a longshot. If that's what being poor is.... LOL!

I think what Ban Hammer is trying to point out to not just you, but ALL of us is that we (at least you and I, in this particular thread) are using sweeping generalizations such as "liberals" or "conservatives".  I get where you're coming from, because I feel the same/opposite way you do when it comes to liberals.  I find I rarely agree with most liberals, even though my online testing has indicated that I am actually more liberal. Perhaps we should take the discussion away from large groups, and point it towards persons/stances/ideas/campaigns, etc.

Instead of "It's extremely rare to hear anything reasonable from the conservatives", let's talk about an issue with which you don't agree that has more conservative support.  We as humanity need to get away from group labels and talk about what really matters.

Ban Hammer, if I am off the mark here, feel free to delete my post.  But I THINK that is where you were trying to guide the discussion.
