OMG block him and get a new number. That's what I did

I don't really want to make this about me, but I have a particular reason why I need to keep a channel of communication open with him. He knows that communications should be limited to this topic but he doesn't respect this boundary. I don't respect it either at times, which is why I am in therapy to improve how I react. Eventually the reason will pass, hopefully by the end of the year, and then I can close the channel.

You can file ROC as divorce waiver, abuse waiver or divorce AND abuse waiver.

For divorce waiver you need to be divorced, for abuse waiver you do not need to be divorced- you do need to show proof of the abuse. It seems you have a police report and probably enough medical reports to qualify under abuse waiver. If you choose to file under abuse waiver and are approved you can apply for citizenship at 3yr mark (providing spouse was a USC and you meet the other requirements - you'll have to check how your time out of the US impacts when you can file n400)
