I just saw this has changed. This is outrageous and totally unfair. What is going on?

From USCIS Website for processing times.

Processing Time: 28.5 Months to 37 Months

Form Type: Based on a pending I-485 adjustment application [(c)(9)]
Receipt Date for Form Processing: August 01, 2017

OMG! I just checked and you are right.. it said February 23, 2020 this AM! This can't be real... that is absolutely nuts!!!! I really hope that is some kind of a very bad joke or a mistake... I even requested expedited processing based on the fact I am a doctor and got a job offer and the COVID-19 caused health care workers need and I have not received even decision on my expedited request.. and that's been almost a month...

Wow, I really hope this is a bug. This is so disheartening to see, we were so excited to finally have our biometrics appointment next week...

For what service center? I just checked a bunch and they all say like 9-26+ months, or around there. None of them said 28-37 months.

Also, that date is based on applications they are working on. They could have picked up an old case that had a bunch of RFEs and officially stated processing it today. Or there could have been a case that was lost in a pile that they found. The case could be from August 2017, the second they log that case as the one they are working on, it changes the date for the center. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they are ONLY working on cases from that time frame.

NBC - check again.

I doubt they calculate times based on the case they are working on - they do work on more than one case at a time (apparently...).

I hope it's a mistake. But who knows given all the class actions and Furloughs...

All the other service centers have normal processing times showing now. All 6 months or less besides NBC. That’s the only one that changed it seems.

I’ll see if I can find the many other posts I read about this. I’ve seen it mentioned quite a few times on VisaJourney that that’s how the date is updated. Otherwise it doesn’t make sense that they were working on cases from this year and now all of sudden they’re working on cases from 2 years ago. Most of those cases would have been completed by now. So there are a few stragglers probably.

Fingers crossed that’s all it is and there was some old case that threw off the estimate.

I think it is that.
The only NBC option I can find is for EAD. That one says 28.5-37 months. But I know that's not accurate, since my husband's EAD was approved and his card is being printed. So, they are definitely working on current cases. I'm sure it's a mistake or just one random old case. Once they update it again it will probably change.

Your letter definitely got lost in the mail. Go the USCIS website, there's a form to fill out when you don't receive the notice from them.

We *still* never received our NOA for I-485 (April 17th PD). Got the EAD one a week after they received the packet (April 14th PD). Two inquiries, which they responded on the second one last week, saying my husband has to wait for biometrics. This isn't even what was asked when requesting the missing mail. 🙄 He spoke to a representative through Emma, which told him 2-4 weeks due to COVID, for it to come in the mail. Where was it in April, with the EAD notice? Sigh.

No biometric appointment letter still.

When did your EAD get approved?

August 18th. He had his biometrics on the 12th.

That’s quick. Our biometrics was then as well. Did you get an email or app update?

It was an app update. But it should be noted that we were originally doing the CR1 route and switched to AOS. So his I-130 was approved December 2019. That might have helped it go faster since they didn’t really need to verify much.
