Here is a quick update on our case. We went to my wife’s Biometrics appointment in Pomona, CA yesterday morning and it was quick and painless. No other filers in the office but her. She got there about 20 minutes before her appointment and by 9am she was done.

Well yesterday evening her i-765 EAD changed status to fingerprints have been taken and applied to your case. This morning the same thing happened with her i-485 AOS to reflect the same exact change. Her i-131 AP remains the same with no status change and that makes sense since the biometrics letter did only specify the receipts numbers for i-485 & i-765 and not the i-131. However, we were told that both the EAD & AP apps will be processed together since they keep them together when turned in simultaneously with the AOS packet. Since these forms did generate separate fees, USCIS is aware that they all came in together.

Anyhow, looks like things are moving along pretty well and that the fingerprints are being processed and cleared in record time right after the visit to the ASC as long as the criminal record is clean. I hope that this holds true for everyone else patiently awaiting their turn. Good luck and waiting to hear back on updates from your cases as well.

WOW thats awesome I was going to mention, I wonder if the I-485s would be a lot quicker since usually right now we would be receiving them already. USCIS was still working on cases just not biometrics because it was in person. Could be they have worked on cases already and just waiting for the BioMetrics too release cards. Wishful thinking but you never know.

Our case updated on July 28th saying that the biometrics has been scheduled. But we still haven’t gotten a letter in the mail with the details. Should we call? I see lots of people are getting appointments for next week, I’m worried we’ll end up missing it!

I got the letter on Monday, it was scheduled for August 14th, and it was sent out on July 30th(scheduled on 28th), I'd assume that they scheduled yours later than August 14th and sent yours out later than 30th

My husband ended up calling, glad he did too. His appointment is for the 12th and they said they haven’t sent a letter out yet. If we don’t get the letter by Monday he has to call again so they can email him a copy to bring to the appointment.

I would call, our notice states if we miss our appointment, the case would be considered "abandoned"

While for majority it may be good news , for us not at all. My husband would like to get his combo card ASAP but not his green card. The reason is we want to avoid removal of conditions later. Our marriage will be 2 years old at the end of October. We wonder if it’s possible to postpone the AOS interview until after our 2 year anniversary?🧐any thoughts from you guys?

I doubt you’d had your interview that early. Before COVID-19 it seemed like it was a long wait between being ready for an interview and actually having the interview. You may be able to postpone your interview on the off chance you did get scheduled before the end of October. But they’d put you back to the beginning of the queue probably.

I have similar experience with yours. Arrived US on February 10th with k1 visa & went for social security application on February 24th but I-94 could not be verified whereby it has to go through manual verification.

Till date, I’m yet to receive my SSN but the man handling my case told me, since my I-94 is now expired, SSN will be issued with EAD. So I’m presently waiting patiently.

So the exact same thing happened with me. And then, once EAD was received, they ‘forgot my to issue me a SSN and I had to make an appt to go into my local office and apply in person. Unaccountability at its finest. I hope they do as they’re supposed to for you, and issue you your number with your EAD

So news of hope to everyone that things are moving.

I filed on April 14th. My check was cashed on Apr 17 and that was my date.

Got RFE for 485 on May 12 and replied to in on 18 June. Nothing on 485 since then.

Got a courtesy letter for 485 on July 15th  for I693.

Got an appointment for bioemtrics on July 30th. Had appointment on Aug 6 (today ) at 3 pm) and as of 11 pm, they were already applied to my case!

Hoping things move forward for everyone soon and I can see it move to the next stage too!

A sad update...

Hey everyone, I just got off the phone with USCIS. I am devastated at the moment and feel completely powerless. One month ago I found out that my EAD card was approved. July 23d I got a notification that said that the USCIS sent out the card to me through mail on July 23d and that I should contact them today if I haven't received it yet. No card in sight so I called today.

Apparently they haven't even sent out the damn card yet and it might take 60 days for them to do so. She couldn't say why they haven't, just that I have to be patient (like I haven't been patient through this process).

On top of it all (which makes me the most sad) is that the AP isn't even on the card, she told me that they haven't even started looking at my case yet. I asked her why my AP is not on the EAD card, and she told me that for one to get a combo card you need to specifically apply for it in one of the forms (she didn't know which one and when I have been looking through my application it doesn't show anywhere where you're supposed to do so). And I told her that I didn't see anywhere that you were asked to specifically apply for a combo card because that would happen automatically when you concurrently sent in both I-765 and I-131 together with the AOS document.

I am so angry. I really need to get home because I have a very ill family member (which isn't considered an emergency, only if a family member dies). On USCIS website it says that "A3.  You may receive this card when you file an Application for Employment Authorization, Form I-765, and an Application for Travel Document, Form I-131, concurrently with or after filing an Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Form I-485. You must file the Forms I-765 and I-131 at the same time in order to receive an EAD and Advance Parole card. Please ensure that you enter your name and address identically on Forms I-765 and I-131 that you file concurrently in order to receive the new card."

What should I do? I am sorry for complaining but I am devastated. Too many bumps in the road that does not make sense (to me).

Hi, have you done biometrics? I expedited and got approval July 7th but still won’t receive the card until biometrics are taken even though a lot of the USCIS agents say I should receive the card within 60 days... which is wrong. Also, if you filed both i765and i131 I believe you should get them together. When I expedited i765 both forms got approved and got separate approval notices. Did you get an approval notice for just one of them?
