I'm in a similar boat. I got an IOE case number, so I can't get any info on how long it will take :(

I saw that IOE means that's something was done for and paid online.

That's technically what it means, but none of that applies to us. We paid & filed the way everyone else has, via mail, which is why I'm so confused.

Oh wow. I'm in a fb group. Let me see if anyone there encountered a similar situation.

It means Missouri, my case is at the NBC but I can't put that into any processing times on the USCIS website to find out how long the process would take :(

The National Benefits Center: What It Is and What It Does
Release Date: June 5, 2012

We have noticed that there is some confusion out there about what our National Benefits Center (NBC) is and what it does.  The NBC serves a unique role within our organization as part of the Field Operations Directorate. The NBC was founded in 2001 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri and was originally called the Missouri Service Center (which is why receipt notices from the NBC will begin with the letters “MSC”).

The NBC’s primary mission is to prepare applications for adjudication that require an interview at a USCIS Field Office.  A lot goes into preparing an application including conducting background and security checks and reviewing the evidence an applicant submits to support their eligibility for the benefit.

The NBC’s largest workload is Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, and Form N-400, Application for Naturalization.  These two applications will reach well over a million cases in Fiscal Year 2012.

In the Form I-485 process, an applicant must provide all initial evidence, before the applicant can be scheduled for interview.  If evidence is missing, the NBC will issue a Request for Evidence (RFE).  An RFE places a hold on the I-485 application, as well as the associated applications filed with the I-485 application (for example, Form I-130, Form I-765, Form I-131), until the NBC receives the missing initial evidence.

Missing evidence will not delay the processing of an N-400 application at the NBC. However, if the missing evidence is not provided at the time of interview in the Field Office, the adjudication of the application may be delayed or the application may be denied.

Processing times of the Form I-485 and Form N-400 applications are determined by each Field Office, not the NBC, since final adjudication is not conducted at the NBC

Hi guys, got an RFE and need some help. Made a post here but I didn't make much headway in getting advice so I thought of you guys.

Basically, got an RFE about current income - the letter stated we did not submit evidence of current income and wanted some info. We had only sent in one month's worth as my husband started a new job only in March. Also sent in a projected income amount he saw on his work portal and an employment letter.

Someone mentioned that we should wait and cut it potentially close to the deadline (i have 87 days from May 26) and accumulate more paystubs - is this viable or too much of a risk you think?

Even if i do so, i wont get 6 month's worth of payslips, so is it better to just send in my RFE response soon?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all,

Quick update on the SSN front. It’s been a little over two weeks since my husband managed to get his in-person appointment at our local SSA office. His case was sent off for manual verification and we have yet to receive the card in the mail. Called the office where he filed this morning and they told him that his documents are still being verified and to expect it to take another 1-2 weeks.

@YvetteS, have you gotten any updates on your card/number?

We got our SSN in 2 weeks

Send paystubs from his old job and the new job he just started. I'm assuming the income from the old job is what he used to file this year's taxes.

Yeap old job lasted till March this year. New job's details are what we entered on the i-864.

Planning to wait a month to accumulate a couple more payslips as his hours are almost back to normal levels and they would look favorable. But still planning to use some old job paystubs to make up for the 6 months since there is no way to have 6 months worth of the new job.

Just didn't want to delay by EAD and AP. I want to start working cause I'm so bored at home already 😅

No, I also weren't able to change my name yet because the ssa are closed and they don't allow the change by mail... I sent my AOS in April, so it doesn't seem to be an issue.

Any approvals for the April filers!? I am checking the numbers around me constantly only to see a lot of people getting RFE. And the remaining ones have no action on it. Rarely seeing an approval. So just wondering.

I’ve seen a few I765 approvals, most likely OPT EADs. I’ve also seen some 131 approvals, but I don’t think they are part of AOS packages, but renewals or something.

I have received 2 letters in the mail since my in person interview for my SSN. the first letter was just an acknowledgement that I had applied for a card and the second letter (which I got a couple days ago) was a receipt that I applied for a card and to expect it in the mail in 1-2 weeks.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I completely didnt think that this could also be the OPT EAD approvals in between. Well the wait continues!

I forgot to attach irs tax transcripts for the form i-944. I only included copy of federal tax return, w-2, and letter from employer as my income is above 125% poverty level. Would this trigger RFE? I am worried...
